    Racial threats
target students
THREATS from page 1
the Daily Nebraskan Tuesday night.
Because the incidents are still
under investigation, Williams said he
could not comment on specific
details of the case. Williams did say
Chancellor James Moeser is aware of
the situation and is taking an active
part in the investigation.
Parker, who is black, said the
note he received under his door was
more harassment than a threat.
“It really creates a hostile work
environment,” he said.
As far as he knows, Parker said,
he did not do anything to prompt
anyone to give him the note. He
believes it was a random act.
Parker would not reveal the con
tents of the note citing the pending
police investigation.
Parker said the note is the first of
its nature he has received.
“It makes one wonder why any
one should have to endure such a sit
uation.”

Koziol boy upgraded
One of the boys involved in an
April 15 car accident that
claimed the lives of his mother
and two of his brothers was listed
in good condition at Lincoln
General Hospital on Tuesday.
Brian Koziol, 6, was upgrad
ed Monday from serious to fair
condition and was moved out of
intensive care, hospital officials
said. Tuesday morning he was
listed in good condition.
Koziol’s mother, Le Ann, 39,
and older brother Kevin, 8, died
the night of the accident.
The youngest Koziol boy,
Aaron, 4, died April 21 at
Lincoln General Hospital, where
he had been in critical condition
since the accident.
The oldest of the four boys,
Matt, 10, was treated for minor
injuries and released on the night
of the accident.
Ray Koziol, the boys’ father
and the Nebraska East Union
operations manager, was at work
when the accident happened.
A memorial fund has been
established for the Koziol family
at Havelock Bank, and donations
also are being accepted at bowl
ing centers citywide. Ray Koziol
had been involved with the
University of Nebraska-Lincoln
bowling team and ran the East
Campus lanes. He was an avid
bowler at lanes around Lincoln.
