His paintings, currently in oil and water color, concentrate on geometric shapes and symbols, which he says he has borrowed, collected or created since he began making non-objective paintings 10 years ago. Krieger’s paintings have been shown in more than 40 exhibitions since 1982, including five national shows, three one-person and four two-person exhibitions. He also has been in two statewide touring shows and was one of six artists included in ihc Sioux City Art Center’s recent exhibition of Symbolist Painters of the Midwest. Kricger received his undergradu ate degree from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, 111. Since earning his MFA at UNL, he has been on the UNL staff as a visiting assis tant professor, teaching watercolor, drawing and beginning oil. He also has served as a visiting assistant professor of art at Nebraska Wesleyan University since 1984, teaching classes in two-dimensional art.
