Levitt of New York, Katherine Gold of Denver, William Gold III of Denver, Thomas W. Levitt of Tucson, Ariz, and Elizabeth G. Duggal of London. UNL Chancellor Martin A. Massen gale called the gift an important step toward assuring programming of inter nationally and nationally acclaimed performances. "The donors have insisted that the Evelyn B. Gold memorial programming be selected from a large array of art forms, including ethnic dance and pageantry, ballet, instrumental and choral concerts, grand opera, ensemble and orchestral groups and theatre, both classical and contemporary," he said. The agreement with the Foundation stipulates: "In an effort to expose Nebraskans to the broad scope of art forms, no attraction funded by this fund shall repeat tne same art form within a time span of at least five suc cessive Gold-funded performances." Important to the Lied Center, Griffin said, is the fact that the Gold fund will facilitate program planning two years in advance of the opening of the Lied Center scheduled for December 1989. The construction of the Lied Center is expected to take two years on the site bordered by 1 1th and 12th streets and Q and R streets. Mrs. Gold was born in Philadelphia and lived in Lincoln for 62 years. Before her death in February 1985, she estab lished in her husband's name two endowed memorial funds in the NU Foundation. Those funds are the $25,000 Nathan J. Gold Doctoral Research Fund in Marketing and a $102,000 Nathan J. Gold Distinguished Professorship in Marketing, both in the UNL College of Business Administration. OOOOOOOOOOOOOO .,.r.:..-J v-'Sr.' UNIVERSITY FLORAL Halloween is Coming!
