A number of other beauty and
barber shops are near both campuses
and are listed in the yellow pages.
Laundromats and dry cleaners
abound in Lincoln.
"We wash it, dry it, fold it or put it on
hangers if that's what you want done,"
said Jim Hooney, an attendant at
Apple Highlander Center, 3230 Apple
St.
If you have children that need to be
cared for while you study or attend
class, several day care centers offer
that service.
Two nurseries near East Campus
are Merry Manor, 320 N. 48 St. and
Mary Moppet's Day Care School, 3900
Vine St.
For evenings, Tiny Tot Sitter Service,
4350 Washington St., advertizes "Your
home or ours, 24 hours."

Students moving into apartments
for the first time often lack many
essentials necessary for apartment life.
A variety of rental agencies in Lin
coln offer commonly-needed items
and equipment to meet those extra
needs.
Ace Furniture-TV Inc., 2429 O St.,
offers almost everything an
apartment-dweller could ask for.
Charlotte Weatherford, bookkeeper at
Ace Furniture, said the most popular
are mini-refrigerators, stereos, beds
and television sets. Other available
items include water beds, microwaves,
living room, dining room and bedroom
furniture and lamps.
Ace Furniture offers "apartment
packages" with everything needed for
apartment living. Rentals can be either
short-term or long-term. Most items
are available for "rent to own." Store
hours are 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Mon
day through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Cari Rentals, 2619 Holdrege St.,
offers a large selection. Commonly
rented items include portable color
television sets, all types of furniture,
home appliances and various video
equipment.
Students who rent from Cari's also
can "rent to own" the items they use.
Cari's is open 1 0 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday
through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Saturday.
For students who want to rent more
than necessities, there are rental
agencies that have special equipment
such as video rentals and lawn equip
ment. Audio-Visual Repair Center,
2301 N. 33rd St., and Henkle Audio
Visual, 2396 Holdrege St., are two video
rental agencies near the university.
Ray's Lawn and Home Care, 1730 S.
6th St., rents lawn mowers and other
equipment for lawn care, as well as
some household equipment.
