I woke up the next morning on the
small, built-in couch of the trailer. 1 had
eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast, orange
juice and a cup of hot coffee before saying
good-bye to my new-found friends and
returning to town.
"Vos, whatja do in that storm last
night? We were worried."
"1 remembered what my Indian grand
mother had taught me. I built up my fire
and surrounded it with large stones. Then
1 reinforced my shelter with small trees
and animal skins."
It was nice to get away.
Polish mime ballet cancelled;
fenist plays at CCimbali tonight
The UNL School of Music orchestra
will present a concert Sunday at 3 p.m.
in Kimball Recital Hall.
The orchestra will play a composition
by Frank Wilhoit, a graduate student in
music who graduated from summa cum
laude from the Catholic University in
Washington D.C.
Wilhoit, 24. has written numerous
musical works, including four symphonies,
string quaiicts and concertos, an organ
sonata for which he won the 1982
Vreeland Award in Music, and two
published sonatas.
This concert will be the first time in
more than a decade that a university
ensemble lias played a composition by a
student.
The concert also brings another first.
The violin solo in Wilhoit's piece will
be played by Robert Emile, conductor of
the university orchestra. Wilhoit will
conduct his own piece.
The management at Kimball has
announced that the April 18 performance
of the Polish Mime Ballet Theater has been
cancelled. The performance would have

Series.
The cancellation of the group's North
American tour was due to the loss of
several major soloists who left the
company.
Refunds have been sent to those patrons
who purchased tickets as part of the
series. Inquiries concerning refunds may be
directed to the Kimball Box Office.
John Browning, internationally
acclaimed pianist, will play at 8 tonight at
Kimball. Browning replaces Mark Zeltser
in the Kimball Performing Arts Series.
Browning appears regularly with several
major orchestras, including the New York
Philharmonic, the Chicago Symphony,
the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Boston
Symphony.
Outside the United States, he performs
annually in France, Canada, Germany,
Scandinavia, Belgium, Holland and Switzer
land. Tickets are still available for his per:
formance tonight and can be obtained by
calling Kimball Box Office at 472-3375.
