page 2 daily nebraskan Wednesday, november 19, 1980 Klan-Nazi acquittal prompts today's demonstration On Monday men allegedly identified as being members of the Ku Klux Klan and Nazi parties were found inno cent of the murders of five demonstrators in Greensboro, N.C. Tonight, at 8 in the Nebraska Union, a man close to that situation will be speaking on the effects of that ac quittal, the tie-in between the Klan .and the American government and how citizens can react against the rise of violence of such groups may perpetuate. Nelson Johnson, known for his political activism and speeches in the South, is being brought to UNL by the Student Y. Coordinator Deresa Oliver who thought John son would benefit students because there is a need for people to be aware of Klan incidents. "The government has given the Nazi's and the Klan a license to kill innocent people," Oliver said in referance to the trial. "If the university wants to reach racial equality, they should take a stand on this." Johnson's arrival on campus is part of the reason be hind a demonstration against racism which the Afrikan People's and Progressive Students Union's will hold at noon at the Broyhill Fountain.
