Rocky Strunk has been chosen to be the editor in chief
of the Daily Nebraskan next semester.
Strunk, 21, a UNL senior from McCook majoring in
journalism, was elected to the post by the UNL publica
tion board Monday night.
Strunk said he will make some changes in the manage
ment and overall organization that are designed to in
crease the efficiency of the news room.
' "I feel the Daily Nebraskan has an obligation ,to the
university community and must continue to stress policy
and ethics involved in the publication of a student news
paper. "I will also stress better editor-reporter relations
through meetings and conferences designed to open
channels of communication.
"I also feel the editor in chief has a number of respon
sibilities which include showing a responsiveness to the
Daily Nebraskan readership."'
"I recognize that several complicated matters will arise
next semester, including the university budget, which will
require professional journalistic handling from the news
