I Barbara Parkins. Melinda Dillon, Ken
Harrington co-star in the drama, which
is based on the novel of the same
name by Marshall Goldberg.
Dan Lassiter (Bridges), director of
Parker Memorial Hospital, is separated
from his wife Kris (Miss Dillon), a
physician whose career and marital
troubles have taken a back seat now
that she is expecting a baby.
Though devoted to Kris. Dan is
attracted to Angela Adams (Miss
Parkins), an assistant to Charles
Sprague (Ebsen). an attorney who
never loses a malpractice case. From
reporter Jimmy Regosi's (Harrington)
investigation. Dan learns of a link
between Angela. Sprague and Nick
Sloan (Wagner), a physician on the
staff at Parker Memorial.
"Sour Mash," a Nebraska-based swing
country group, performs in a two-part
special program airing this week on the Ne
braska Educational Television Network.
"Sour Mash, Set One" will be broadcast
Tuesday, September 5, at 8 p.m. and
repeats Friday, September 8, at' 8 pjn.
"Sour Mash, Set Two" will air on Wednes
day, September 6, at 8 p.m. and again on
Sunday, September 10, at 6:30 p.m.
Sour Mash's unique blend of swing and
country music has proven popular to
audiences throughout the Midwest. They
have shown the ability to play material
from such diverse artists as Van Morrison
to the Mills Brothers. The group has just re
cently released its second album, entitled
simply "Sour Mash."
The two-part concert, taped at Omaha's
Howard Street Tavern, includes such select
ions as "Mack the Knife," "I Will Always
Love You," "Walkin' the Floor Over You"
and "Crazy."
Sour Mash group members are lead
vocalists Pam Harms (Lincoln) and
Reynold Peterson (Oakland); Randy Barger
(Tekamah), vocals and guitar; Steve Turbot
(Omaha), piano; Chuck Lettes (New York
City), and steel guitar, Dick Carlson
(Omaha), bass; and Dell Darling (Oakland),
drums.
The "Sour Mash" television programs
were produced by the Project 12 unit of
University of Nebraska Television. Neal
Wolff served as producer-director with Don
Freeman as assistant director. Funding for
the two-part program was provided in part
by Nebraskans for Public Television, Inc.
