"Sour Mash," a Nebraska-based swing country group, performs in a two-part special program airing this week on the Ne braska Educational Television Network. "Sour Mash, Set One" will be broadcast Tuesday, September 5, at 8 p.m. and repeats Friday, September 8, at' 8 pjn. "Sour Mash, Set Two" will air on Wednes day, September 6, at 8 p.m. and again on Sunday, September 10, at 6:30 p.m. Sour Mash's unique blend of swing and country music has proven popular to audiences throughout the Midwest. They have shown the ability to play material from such diverse artists as Van Morrison to the Mills Brothers. The group has just re cently released its second album, entitled simply "Sour Mash." The two-part concert, taped at Omaha's Howard Street Tavern, includes such select ions as "Mack the Knife," "I Will Always Love You," "Walkin' the Floor Over You" and "Crazy." Sour Mash group members are lead vocalists Pam Harms (Lincoln) and Reynold Peterson (Oakland); Randy Barger (Tekamah), vocals and guitar; Steve Turbot (Omaha), piano; Chuck Lettes (New York City), and steel guitar, Dick Carlson (Omaha), bass; and Dell Darling (Oakland), drums. The "Sour Mash" television programs were produced by the Project 12 unit of University of Nebraska Television. Neal Wolff served as producer-director with Don Freeman as assistant director.
