"I am secure and comfortable knowing that my con
science is clear and that the people's verdict will be a fair
and just one," the burly director of President Carter's
Office of Management and Budget told the Senate Gov

High-level talks
Nairobi, Kenya-U.S. officials were reported Thursday
Special diets
to be holding high-level talks with Ethiopia s Marxist
regime in Addis Ababa, and there was speculation they
were discussing a resumption of American military aid
shipments.
"Top-level contacts are continuing between the
embassy and Ethiopia's government," said a spokesman
for the U.S. Embassy in the Ethiopian capital.
Returns funds .
Washington-Freshman Sen. Edward Zorinsky, saying
too many people in Washington feel comfortable spending
other people's money, is returning to the government
$313,016 in unspent office funds.
"I feel like one drop in a bucket helps," said Zorinsky,
a Nebraska Democrat, whose unused funds will. revert
to the treasury on Sept, 30, when the current fiscal year
ends.
"Sometimes a bucket can get filled if enough drops fall
into it," he said Thursday.

health center
Special therapeutic diets
are available at the Univer
sity Health Center for those
students who need such
diets for health reasons,
according to a health center
official. " .
Kathleen Lehr, head of
the dietary deparment, said
diabetics and those with
allergies are among the
students who need special
diets. For example "a liquid
diet would be . provided to
someone who had recently
had jaw surgery and has his
jaw wired shut," Mrs. Lehr
said.
Students who need
special diets but live in a
residence hall can take their
meals at the Health Center's
outpatient dining room for
a charge, Lehr said. The
residence hall food service
meal ticket can be invali
dated, she added.
Last year the health
center served about seven
students on special diets,
she said. The students
received meals three times a
day, everyday, for . a full
year. Lehr said the health
center can serve special diet
meals to about 20 students.
