Allman performs
in Omaha Friday
The Allman Brothers Band, pioneers in integrating
Southern blues and rock, will perform at 8 p.m. Friday,
in Omaha's Civic Auditorium, 18th and Capitol streets
The Allman Brothers moved to Macon, Ga., in 1969
after a historic jam in Florida brought them national
recognition.
Gregg Allman heads the band since the death of his
brother Duane in 1971. Other members include Dicky
Betts, guitar; Chuck Leavell, piano; Lamar Williams, bass;
and Butch Trucks and Jai Johanny Johanson, drums.
Grinderswitch, another Southern boogie band, will
lead-off the program.
