Barnhart also said- that
Benson, which is facing the
worst crisis, could not be
bailed out alone. "The Board is
not about to piecemeal its
money. We just can't do
something for Benson without
doing it for other schools."
He said that wouldn't
- necessarily have been the case
except for the headlines in The
Omaha World-Herald telling of
the imminent death of the
Benson High News.
Hanna listed possible
solutions, such as a reduction
of the number of issues, more
advertising or lower quality of
production. Barnhart and
Hanna also said that one area
advertising 'agent had offered
to absorb the costs of
production of a single paper
for the entire district, with
separate sections for each
school, for advertising sales
rights.
Editor Garrett of the News
said he doubted the feasibility
of such a project. "I don't
think that person knows what
he's getting into. The rates and
percentage of advertising
would have to be extremely
high."
Horn said he remains
optimistic about the future. "I
still think the administration
will see the light and not let
our paper die after 46 years.

Maybe you can't help
others all by your
self. That's no excuse
for doing nothing.
Join with others at
your local synagogue
or church. There's
plenty you can do to
gether. Example: In
Wisconsin, one reli
gious group set up a
lialfway house to help
women parolees fit
themselves back into
society. The God we
worship expects us to
seek out those who
need our help, and to
help them.
Start treating your
rothers and sisters like
brothers and sisters.
