Do you think Nebraska is screwed up? Well you can do
something to change it. ASUN Legislative Liaison
Committee needs your help on the following projects:
To Block the Governor's Tuition increase: in the name
of "tax relief" the Governor wants to increase what we
and our parents pay while cutting what we get.
To get a New Life Science Building: Either by a grant
from revenue sharing money or making sure there is
adequate funding in the Budget.
To Have a Constitutional Amendment Placed Before
the People to Establish a Student Regent: The bill has
already been introduced, it's up to us to get it passed.
To Have Minimum Wage for Students Guaranteed:
Senator Chambers has introduced a bill that establishes our
work as valuable as anyone else's.
To Stop the Cut-off of Funds for Intramurals &
Recreation, the Union, Student Health, ASUN, and the
Daily Nebraskan: Believe it or not a student fee bill is
back. It would cut-off funds for the programs, but you'd
still have to pay for the buildings.
To Work for the Uniform Residential Landlord and
Tenant Act: How many times have you wanted to tell
your landlord where to go, but had no place to send him?
This bill would give you a place.
We need your help on any or all of these projects. If
you can talk andor read there's something you can do.
Call the ASUN Office at 472-2581 and ask for Ann Henry
or Mark Hoeger or come to a regular meeting, Tuesday
nights at 9:00 p.m. in the Union (room posted).

CENTER FOR EDUCATIONAL
change report
AGENDA
The Center for Educational Change is currently
working on three projects. A proposed policy allowing no
hour exams during the last week of class was accepted by
the ASUN Senate in December, but has yet to come before
the Faculty Senate. C.E.C. is compiling another proposal
for the mechanics and use of faculty evaluations. This
- proposal also seeks direct student representation in
tenure-approving procedures. Finally C.E.C. plans to
rewrite and distribute a booklet for incoming freshmen
which introduces them to the University of Nebraska.
