Student asks for CSL ag seat
by Adella Wacker
Agriculture College student Phi Lamb
told the Council on Student Life (CSL)
Thursday night that . he was not asking for
immediate action, but relayed the concern
and support of East Campus students for
representation on CSL.
Petitions have been circulated to measure
that support, he reported.
It was found last week that amended CSL
membership rules recommend one East
Campus student be included on the council.
He further said he did not think the one
CSL member from an East Campus living
unit represented those colleges. That
member, Bill Crom, is a pharmacy major.
'The people who use the facilities should
be represented," Lamb said.
He also said that a planned resolution on
the issue couldn't be presented to ASUN
Senate Wednesday because of the lack of a
quorum.
Chairman Donald Shaneyfelt said he saw
the issue now as "a political problem of
ASUN."
Another student, Bill Freudenberg,
presented his ASUN committee's report on
its relationship to CSL for the council's
consideration.
Most of the meeting was spent discussing
fine points of the newly-drafted student
discipline code.
Ron Gierhan, head of UNL student
discipline, and council members talked
about whether some issues, football and
traffic ticket regulations, should be included
at all.
They also discussed whether the wording
in the code matched its intent in issues such
as drug use and housing pol icy.
