Guard Bob Price was the
troublemaker, hitting ten
straight points after Nebras
ka had earned a twelve point
advantage with the strong
board play of transfer Bob
Antulov and the playmaking
of another sophomore, Grant
bimmons.
Price and his mates kept
the pressure on after having
a disappointing opening sev
en and a half minutes of the
second half thev didn't score
a field goal in that stretch.
Nebraska shooting cooled
in the last minutes and the
Tigers held a four point ad
vantage at 65 to 61 on fielders
by Price and Gary Garner
with a 1:21 left.
Husker Coach Joe Cipriano
called time out at this point.
Nebraska came back with a
special weaving offense which
sprung Grant Simmons for a
lay-up.
Tiger Don Early traveled
to give the Scarlet their tying
chance and Antelov re
sponded with a tip-in of a
coroming Webb jumper. An
tulov's tipping with able sup
port from Jerry Spears and
Charlie Jones accounted for
the numerous Nebras
ka scores from under the
bucket.
Antulov, a 6-7 junior, tipped
in four of his six baskets
while Simmons set up at least
six lay-ups with his sharp
passing on fast breaks.
Missouri set up their scor
ing ace and top rebounder
Ray Bob Carey with three
shots behind screens but the
6-7 senior couldn't cash in.

Husker Grid Team
High InNU Annals
Before assigning the 1963 football Cornhuskers to the
archives, it's interesting to summarize their accomplish
ments. Take the team itself:
The 9-1 regular season record was the Huskers top
production since 1905 (9-2).
The 10-1 record, including the 13-7 victory over Au
burn in the Orange Bowl, was the best record and the first
time 10 victories had been achieved since 1903 (11-0).
The 10-1 record ranks 7th on the all-time list and
the .909 was the best percentage since 1914 (.938).
Nebraska evened its bowl record at 2-2.
Coach Bob Devaney's two-year mark of 19-3 was the
second best tandem production in history, trailing only
Walter C. (Bummy) Booth's 21-0 in 1902-1903. E.O. (Jumbo)
Stiehm holds the best three-year mark with 23-0-1. Percentage-wise
Stiehm ranks second for a two-year span with
15-0-1 in either 1913-14 or 1914-15.
Here's the list of Nebraska's top seasons:
W L T Pet. Pts. Opp.
1903 11 0 0 1.000 292 16
1902 10 0 0 1.000 185 0

1914 7 0 1 .938 174 28
1963 10 1 0 .909 273 114
Individually, All Big 8 quarterback Dennis Claridge
whose 68-yard TD sprint against Auburn on the second
play set an Orange Bowl record became Nebraska's top
passer.
During his career. Claridge completed 125 passes for
1,733 yards, bettering the old marks of 113 and 1,564 set
by John Bordogna in 1951-52-53.
