middle of a nine-man line all
afternoon.
The Husker sophomore
from Toledo, Ohio, has gotten
away on only one long run
this season and that was a 57
yarder. He was the workhorse
Saturday at Colorado with his
19 carries and is the leading
rusher among the Huskers in
number of plays.
Thornton has carried the
ball 71 tmies and gained 308
yards for a 4.3 average.
Nearly all of the yardage has
come against stacked defen
sive lines. The fact that
Thornton has lost only three
yards in his 71 carries against
nine-man lines attests to his
running power.
Thornton scored the only
Nebraska touchdown against
the Buffs Saturday.
