Page 4 THE DAILY NEBRASKAN Tuesday, Tanuary 21, 1947 Colorado Artist Displays Works At Morrill Hall Drawing by George Vander Sluis, instructor in the Fine Arts Center at Colorado Springs, will be on exhibit in Gallery B of Morrill hall until February 10.' Sluis, a former service man, has included many European subjects in his drawings. According to Dwight Kirsch, director of the university art galleries, the art ranges from "pure pen and Ink line drawings to wash drawings bolstered by pen or brush line." Mr. Kirsch added that, "In all of the works on display, Sluis' remarkably vital line quality is tne major source of his strength." Housing . . . Continued from Tugt 1 of them veterans. The remaining 15 percent are new students who are married, many of them with families. Living accommodations for married students presents an especially difficult problem since we have" not yet successfully found homes with kitchen privi leges, or apartments for many of the married veterans who en rolled last fall. "We are hopeful that the same sense of civic pride and duty which prompted hundreds of Lin coln residents to open their homes to students last fall will again manifest itself in helping the university to meet the problem of housing the new second semester students." Women's Quarters Filled. Announcing that all university operated dormitories for women and sorority houses were filled to capacity, Miss Elsie Ford Piper, assistant Dean of Women, said, "With the splendid co-operation of the women of Lincoln in open ing their homes, the office of the Dean of Women was able to place all women in satisfactory living quarters last semester. However, it is necessary to have additional rooms for girls entering the sec ond semester. The office will ap preciate it if all women who have rooms for girls left will list them at once by calling the university 2-7181, Extension 86."
