Telescope Saves Day as Spots 0
20u Sun Confuse Astronomerso
C . , --
Snots on the Sun" isn't the title
of a new jukebox lyric but it may
be if old Sol doesn't start wash
ing his face more often. '
Prof. Collins and th astronomy
class were quite impressed with
the telescopic view of the sun yes
terday and before any of his be
wildered classes, after discovering
the large dark object covering
part of the sun, could make any
more' deductions lik'e the one
above, Prof. Collins hastened to
explain.
Disallusionment.
The following dissertation may
disillusion some of the more ro
mantic readers, so prepare! The
sun. is not made of Apollo's re
flections as many have always
believed. Nope, according to Prof.
Collins the sun is a mass of bril
liant, swirling liquid.
When some mean old at
mospheric gas comes whipping up,
the liquid starts swirling faster
and faster and as it whirls it be
comes cold and appears black.
Hence; spots on the sun. Fun,
ain't it?
Anyone can witness this phe
nomena by stopping in at the ob
servatory on Ninth and S street,
Prof. Collins stated.
