Thursday, September 17, 1942 4 DAILY NEBRASKAN Sinkey Is Appointed Union Head Board Names Tat Lalir Assistant; Both Continue Former Union Duties Bob Sinkey of Lincoln was ap pointed director of the Union dur ing the summer to take the place of Bill Marsh, who resigned to go into active duty with the navy reserve. Appointed assistant director was Pat Lahr who has been in charge of the Union social activi ties for several years. Both Pin key and Mi?s Lahr handled the work they had done previously along with their new activities during the summer. Sinkey has been with the Union Fince it was opened. He graduated from the university last spring. He was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. In announcing the appointment, Dr. W. H. Morton, president of the board, said that "Mr. Sinkey has been a valuable member of the staff, and Miss Lahr has de veloped a remarkable social pro gram for the building." Miss Lahr has been social direc tor of the Union since the fall of 1939. In the spring of that year she was graduated from the uni versity as a Mortar Board and a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. Her position of assistant director was newly created by the board. Marsh has been director of the building for almost one year be ginning July 6 of a year ago. He succeeded Joyce Ayres. Employment Office Accepts Applicants University students who wish to obtain jobs for the school year may apply through the student employment office. Women students should apply at the office of the' dean of women, Ellen Smith hall, and men students should apply at the Student Employment of fice, room 8, Administration building.
