Z or not to go steady seems to be the sololoquy which Tri Delt Mary Helen Diet rich repeats, for one minute she is and the next minute she isn't. Bet Delt Dick Gcllatly wishes that she would make up her mind pretty soon! Just between you and I, I think they are a cute couple together. Sweet treats were given to the Alpha Chi's Tuesday night from Betty Green and Gregory Meyer. The girls are wondering just what will happen to Marty Reed when her steady, Bob Ford, goes into National Guard camp on ttie 28th. Time will tell, I guess. Who shaved the squirrel? When a few students saw a scrawny looking squirrel over by Law this morning, they took a good look and saw that he had been shaved down the back. Who ever did it should feel ashamed, and besides, haven't you heard about the Humane Society? Valentine Day calls up some early celebra tion on the part of the Tri Delta who had a couple dinner Wednes day evening. The Kappas will do their dining formally on Thursday night. Most every body else will wait till the 14th. People like Mary Anne Stryson, Alpha Phi and Art Mason, Sigma Chi should find the romantic theme very much in keeping with their affair which is reported (unofficially) to be on the steady side. Also shar ing this Valentine Day spirit will be Theta Dottie Wierich and DU Heavy Day who are seeing more and more of each other these days. No, it"s not double talky there really are two Marie An dersons on the campus. Don Fitz, pride and joy from the Theta house has a name twin. Marie An derson, a Kappa from North Da kota has joined the ranks of UN students.. Marie will be seen at the Interfraternity Ball with eli gible bachelor Jack Stewart. Other Ball dates include people such as Alpha Xi Deltas Peggy Jones with Bill Anderson, Betty Klingel with Beta Paul Dinnis. From the Gam ma Phi house comes the news that Lois Thompson will go with Kappa Sig Rex Weaver. Frances Hans will be there with AGR John Schick who was pinned to AXD Virginia Sack last year. Navy shows film on U-boats, 'Man O Warsmcn' "The U. S. Navy in Action," a four reel film sponsored by the U. S. navy recruiting office, will be shown Feb. 18 at 7:30 p. m. in the Union ballroom. George Greenwell will give a short talk before the film is shown and the entire program will last about an hour. The film shows the duties and life in two departments of our navy and two reels are devoted to showing the life of a recruit in the navy. "Service in a Submarine ' and "Crossroads of the Pacific" are the reels on the navy. "Crossroads of the Pacific" was taken when man o' war ships were in the Hawaiian Islands. Two reels showing the train ing required for making a civil ian into a member of a gun crew are called "Modern Man '0 Warsmen." They show the train ing life of a recruit. Turnpike offers Valentine treat Dancers at the Turnpike Friday will receive a Valentine's Day treat in two forms a free box of Mrs. Stover's Bungalow choco lates and dancing to the music of Gus Arnheim's band. Arnheim, whose slogan is "Star Favorite and Star Finder," is the man who "found" Bing Crosby and sent him on the way to star dom. The orchestra has introduced a number of hit songs including Professional business group elects Hewett Delta Sigma Pi, professional business fraternity, elected Floyd Hewett of Ainsworth head master at their meeting Monday night "Sweet and Lovely," "I Surrender Dear," "I Cried for You," and "Goodnight My Love." Other officers are Joe Flammang, senior warden; Aubrey Stevenson, junior warden; Don Sullivan, treas urer; Robert Bjodstrup, scribe; and Max Leonard, chancellor.
