Rubottom,
Hopp score
in scrimmage
The Huskers got two touch
downs in a scrimmage last night,
as the Tales, playing with Harry
Hopp, outscored their Harvard
foes, 7-6, in weather distinctly not
temperate.
Hopp' who has moved from the
Harvards to the Yales, made the
Eli's touchdown against the Reds'
second string, on a 25-yard scam
per around end, as he scored stand
ing up. His extra point put his
team out ahead of the Reds.
Yale's scoring drive started in
midfield as plunging Vike Francis
uloyed 21 yards to the 29. Vike
and Bob Kahler picked up four
yards to the 25 from which point
Hopp went into high.
Score from two.
Don Rubottom, moved up to the
Harvards' foist team in the ab
sence of Hopp, had gone over from
the 2 on fourth down, as the Red
first stringers started the scrim
mage against the Eli's reserves.
Butch Luther turned in two
sparkling end runs, and caught a
pass from Rubottom to spark the
Harvard's scoring dive.
Jones sent the first two teams
of both squads to the showers, as
third stringers finished the scrim
mage after Hopp's score.

Reds, 3-2
By Don Pollock.
Coach Wilbur Knight sent his
Husker baseballers thru a five and
one-half inning game yesterday
on the varsity diamond and the
Blue Skyrockets beat the Red
Raiders, 3 to 2. The regulars in
winning played the best ball of the
season in spite of the cold weather.
"Ole" Swanson was on the
mound for the Skyrockets and was
touched for 5 hits, including a
home run by John McDermott,
the Raiders' second baseman,
scoring both the Yannigans' runs.
McDermott is an outfielder but
played smooth ball for the Red
boys in the infield.
The Blue team scored their runs
in the first and second innings on
3 hits. In the second frame Cliff
Hurley, Skyrocket outfielder hit
a triple with Tegtmier on base
and later scored on a passed ball.
High winds and cold weather
cut the scheduled game to five and
one-half innings. Tomorrow the
team will take a short batting
practice and will view pictures of
major league players in action.
Coach Knight announced a double
workout on Saturday. The mor
ning drill will consist of hitting
and fielding workouts and in the
afternoon a game will be played
with the freshman club.
