Coach Wilbur Knight sent his Husker baseballers thru a five and one-half inning game yesterday on the varsity diamond and the Blue Skyrockets beat the Red Raiders, 3 to 2. The regulars in winning played the best ball of the season in spite of the cold weather. "Ole" Swanson was on the mound for the Skyrockets and was touched for 5 hits, including a home run by John McDermott, the Raiders' second baseman, scoring both the Yannigans' runs. McDermott is an outfielder but played smooth ball for the Red boys in the infield. The Blue team scored their runs in the first and second innings on 3 hits. In the second frame Cliff Hurley, Skyrocket outfielder hit a triple with Tegtmier on base and later scored on a passed ball. High winds and cold weather cut the scheduled game to five and one-half innings. Tomorrow the team will take a short batting practice and will view pictures of major league players in action. Coach Knight announced a double workout on Saturday. The mor ning drill will consist of hitting and fielding workouts and in the afternoon a game will be played with the freshman club. f v.:v-, ' A. :v(jH 3J.I.S.CO. ll I -Lz If i : : ! ; ' , i i ! ! ! ) f . i i i 1 i "Leave it io STETSON.. . . . to turn out a five-dollar hat that has the right lines and the right style.
