awarded to Sherman Welpton, '30,
Omaha, for being the best all-around
basic course man in the regiment.
The award was made not only on
the merit of the man in drill and ap
pearance, but also upon scholarship
and value to the student body. At
a recent election Welpton was made
cr.ptain of the Pershing Rifles for
next year and he has been active in
school activities during his two years
in school.

Keystone Press, Inc.
Henry Jorgenson, '28, Omaha,
was awarded a sam-brown belt for
being the best citizen-soldier in
school. The award was made on
scholarship, citizenship, value to the
Community, and all-around military
ability.
The company winning compet re
ceived not only a blue banner for its
guidon, but also a blue ribbon for
each man in the company. Second
place winners in compet received red
ribbons and a red banner for the
guidon. The company winning third
plnce received white ribbons and a
white scarf. Each, member of the
winning platoon received a light
blue ribbon. Three beautiful loving
cups were presented to the men
placing first, second and third in the
individual competition.

The aim of the course is to help
the teacher handle nervous difficul
ties of speech and phonetic disorders.
These children will be found to be
relaxed on couches or playing with
blocks with the attention directed
fi'om the mechanism of speech but to
what they are saying.
