At a recent election Welpton was made cr.ptain of the Pershing Rifles for next year and he has been active in school activities during his two years in school. The award was made on scholarship, citizenship, value to the Community, and all-around military ability. The company winning compet re ceived not only a blue banner for its guidon, but also a blue ribbon for each man in the company. Second place winners in compet received red ribbons and a red banner for the guidon. The company winning third plnce received white ribbons and a white scarf. Each, member of the winning platoon received a light blue ribbon. Three beautiful loving cups were presented to the men placing first, second and third in the individual competition.
