be heard and appreciated by as large

the ordinary theatilcal troupe
The fact that the junior play was a
financial failure must be attributed to
causes quite apart fioni an Improper
selection ot the drama It was quite
generally known that the cast began
pi act Ice only three weeks before the
play was staged This fact no doubt,
preented the sale of tickets to peo
pie who are afraid that they won t get
their money's worth Furthermore,
the junloi amateurs had to follow Soth
ern and Morlow. and therefore the
week's Htock of theatregoers was more
than exhausted by the exceptional and
costly Shakespearian productions Add
to these facts, the need ot more ex
tended publicity for so representative
an aMhity as a class play, and you
hae many other causes to put the
play in the hole besides a sudden and
serious decent into tiagedy

Our M. & P. Special
3.50 'Shoe
FOR Men
Realizing that many men do not
wish to pay 5.00 or 6.00 for a pair of
shoes- we have made a very special
effort to induce manufacturers to bring
out a really good serviceable shoe to
sell for 3.50.
We made our first aim "quality" and went to one of the largest
manufacturers of shoes in America, with our specification?. With con
siderable difficulty and some changes we were able to have these
shoes made so we could sell them for 3.50.
We chosr a good conservative last one that will appeal to the
majority of men, not sacrificing quality to style, as is done in many
lines today, but having them made of good solid alf skin that will
WEAR substantial soles, good easy heels and medium round toes,
make a combination that would be hard to beat, even at a higher
price
T$2 May be had in button or lace style Tan Calf or Gun Metal Calf
- either high cut or oxfords. More value for the price will make
these shoes popular with men who spend their money carefully.
