Next woek tho sophomores muBt take tho state examination on the work of tho first two years of their course. The examination is a stiff one and necessitates considerable study if high grades are to be gained. The sophomores therefore desired a two days' vacation In order that they might properly prepare for tho ques tions of tho examiners. This request the college did not at first allow and the medics were In a quandary wheth er to Imperil their credits by striking or Imperil their grades by not bo doing. , Yesterday morning tho students held a conference with Dean Ward of the medical college and the whole matter was discussed. The students explained their side of tho case to tho satisfaction of tho dean and tho two day' vacation will consequently bo granted.
