The death of Mr. Tlmmerman ro
contly at Los Angolcs come as a great
shock to his University friends. He
had been an instructor In civil engin
eering during the present school year.
In other ways ho had been very close
ly associated with tho University.
As an instructor ho was most fair
in his dealings with the students, and
a man respected very highly by them.
His dealings with other men had al
ways been of the most Just and upright.
All who knew him greatly respect
ed him, and appreciated such staunch
friendship as he many times manifest.
Among his fraternity brothers hiB
opinions were always most highly
honored, and they fountl in him a
brother of brothers, and we feel that
their loss is our loss.
The return of the Varsity base ball
team Saturday night brought into
Lincoln one of the . most crippled
teams that has ever represented the
ern to tho bad, and that Is what we
want anyway.
Now, lot overy student get busy and
attend the games on Friday and Sat

power to keep tne Kansans down.
Their yell of "Rock, Chalk, Jayhawk.

1AHY RAY MORE?
Nebraska, Morse, tho captain, was
out of the game on account of a
sprain, Nllsson had two dislocated
ribs, Hyde was in a bad condition,
Fenlon had a sprained wrist, Gaddls
had to come home, Bellamy broke his
ankle, and the rest of the -team was
all crippled up.. The above is an exact
description of how the men were, yet
they fought tho schedule gamely out
doing tho beat they could.
Much credit is due Captain Morse
and his bunch for the game fight they
put up. Not the least bit of criticism
Lb heard from anyone in regard to the
kjnd of ball played by the Varsity.
Everyone who; understood their con
dition has been very free to express
his admiration for the team. Nebras
ka had probably as strong a team as
eer left Lincoln, but the severe in
juries they received would have
brought any team down. It is felt
