With 500 students In working attire
tugging nt a big ropo which drew a
plow, and giving tho college yell with
each pull, ground was broken at noon
Tuesday for the now $70,000 gym
nasium at Ohio Wosloyan. Proxy
Whltlock guided the plow amid the
cheers of tho co-eds. After a furrow
150 yards long was made, the students
rested and llstoned to speeches.
In tho debate between Kansas and
Missouri held at Columbia recently tho
decision was given to Missouri by a
vote of two to one. Half an hour
later, after tho debaters had dispersed,
a mistake In tho vote was discovered
and a decision of two to one In favor
of Kansas was announced. The Kan
sas debating team had tho curious ex
perience of loosing and winning tho
same dobate.
