both well known soloists, will furnish

University, but as a general rule, what
tnoy havo to say is espocially Inter
esting to but ono class of students.
There are, however, but fow special
ists who havo something of vital In
terest and Importanco for every sub
ject Dr. J. L. Greono, Superintendent
of the stato hospital for insane, who
will address University men in Memo
rial hall Sunday afternoon, Is ono of
tho few specialists who has something
to Bay in which every man in tho Uni
versity has a deep Interest. He will
deliver an address on tho subject, "A
Thiug Every Man Ought to Know,"
and tho following statements of men
"prominent in city and University life,
will Indicate tho esteem In which he
is held:
Rov. John Lewis Marsh, pastor of
the All Soul's Unitarian church of this
city, says: "I consider this address
by Dr. Greene omlnently worthy and
n fitting one one that every man
ought to hear."
Dr. II. C. Swearlngen, pastor of the
First Presbyterian church, said: "Dr.
Greono Is a practical man. Ho is deal
ing with life as it Is, and speaks with
' authority on 'this. Important subject."

Debating League Will Be Made a
Reality By Action of Clubs.
Tonight a mass meeting of the mem
bers of the different debating clubs ol
the University will be held in the law
lecture room at 8 p. m. sharp.
The new constitution 'will be pre
sented and read and motion made for
itb adoption.
ICveryono interested should be

If the new constitution is adopted
tne officers of tho organization will be
elected and the first regular debate will
bo hld.
The object of the organisation is pri
marily to promote fellowship among
the members and to secure n stronger
organization of the students of the
University who aie Interested in de
bate. The moFt vigorous efforts will be ex
cited to secure thoroughly prepared
discussions of up to date questions in
political economy, sociology and cur
rent events.
The sontiment of the students is de
cidedly in favor of this movement and
all .feel tho need of such an organiza
tion, not only for th? discussion of
present questions, and topics, but also
for tho practical work in parliamen
tary drill which it affords.
In fact our school seems to be about
tho only ono where a vigorous student
debating organization is lacking.
Students should be better acquainted
with current topics and events, and
If there Is anything manifestly to be
deplored It is the general Inability of
students to handle a parliamentai y
meeting of any kind.
The movement deservcb the support
of all and there Is no reason why it
bhould not be- a complete success In
every way.
