Board Will Locate Administra
tion And Physics Buildings.
The fato of tho athletic field will be
decided today. Tho building commit
tee of the Board of Regents is now in
session, trying to devlBe some means
for solving tho question of tho loca
tion of. the new physics building. It is
probable that this will be upon the
atnietic field, but tho plans may bo so
changed as to permit onough space be
ing reserved to still allow athletics to
hold sway at tho University of Ne
braska.
Superintendent of Construction Cho
wlns stated this much to a Nebraskan
reporter, In an Interview yesterday af
ternoon. He continued: "The plans
may bo altered by cutting off ton feet
from the north wing of tho building
Instead of making tho proposed addi
tion. This, It Is tnought, would leave
sufficient space for tho football field.
Tho Regents are just as anxious as
Tho plans for tho new Administra
tion building are now at the offlco of
the superintendent of constructoan, and
whllo they will be subject to Boveral
minor changes, practically represent
tho building as it will bo constructed.
The structure will be two stories In
height, with a basement. From tho
ground to the first floor lino it will be
built of cut stono. Sand brick will be
used from that point to tho caps of
tho second story, when stone will again
be employed. The general plan of
construction, will be modeled accord
ing to the Renaissance style. Three
entrances, on the east, west and south,
will be furnished, but tho former two
will open on the main hall. ThiB will
be floored with marble and Mosaics.
Tho stairways leading to the Becond
floor will also bo of marble. A hand
some driveway for carriages will bo
situated at tho Bouth front of tho new
building.
The basement will be rather shal
low, being only five foot bolow tho
ground. It will contain vaults,, store
and Janitors' rooms. Tho vaults will
extend to the second floor. All records
will bo store in the basement vaults,
while papers and books in .immediate
use will be deposited in tho other floors.

Sophomore Girls Win In An Ex
citing Game.

two thousand University studonts, and
professors, because loss than three hun
dred people attended a basket ball tour
nament last night that should and
heretofore always has, packed tho Ar
mory to tho roof. Thero waa a promlum
on front seats In expectation that tho
girls would bo recklesB, as last year,
when many a youth was roundly roaat
ed on tho way home by his own girl

fall into his lap. But tho playera

who has become very austere since sbo

so well that when the last whistle
blow tho score was 17 to 6 against the
latost additions to the University.
After a short rest the Sophomores
add Seniors appeared to play tho fjnal
game for -tho ohampipnehlp. Tho gamo
was flercoly contested from tho first
whistle, and the .first half was nearly
over before Miss Evorott throw a bril
liant goal from field. Each Ido mado
another goal bofpro the half ended,
when the scoro was 4 to 2 .In favor of
the Sophomores.
Tho second half opened with a goal
in tho first .minute of play for the
Sophs, which seemed- to. Inspire thorn,
and discouraged tho Seniors, for be
fore they could score- the lowor class
had piled up eight mora points to .their
credit. Tho final score ,was 10 to 0
In favor of tho Sophs.

He was of the opinion, however, that
the' building would not keep athletics
from the campus permanently,.
Dr. Condra spoke along the same lino
in chapel yesterday morning. He said:
"I have assurance from ono high in
authority that the matter in which you
are now deeply interested has been
thoroughly and well considered by the
chancellor and the mbmbora of the
Board of Regents and that no student
in the school has lost more sleep and
spent more time than the Board of Re
gents. Everyone should refrain from
making radical statements and further
realize that those in authority will dis
pose of tho question in a way that will
be .for the best interests of the school,
as a whole. I hope that nothing has
been said: or will bo said that will
leave afalse Impression regarding this
matter in anyone's mind.'"

mated cost will be about $35,000.
ThiB building will bo commenced as
soon as the plans are definitely' settled
and tho contract awarded. The con
tract for the new State Farm building
will be advertised next week.

Thero was a distressing lack of en-
thusiosm,. and not until the second half,
of the Senior-Junior game did a small
portion jof the audience discover-that
thero is no rule against cheering n't
basket ball games, or that yells are
not confined to class meetings.
Tho first gamo was between the 6e
niors apd the Juniors, who have held
the Championship for the last two
years. In tho first half they promised
to cinch the pennant for another term,
and walked over '04 to the tune pf 7
to 3. But in the second half they
missed their three former stars, Mlss'es
Pearl Archibald, Alice Towtte and Ruth
Bryan, and the, Seniors showed such
superior team work that when tlje
game ended the score stood lltp 10,4n
their favor. ,-
