The domestic science classes are
cooking bananas and apples. It is
necessary to practice such rigid econ
omy In this department that many ex
periment have to be omitted.
Superintendent Corey of the Wy
more schools reports that science
teachers are very scarce. Instructors
In the natural sciences and mathe
matics are especially so.
Professor Robbins of the law depart
ment has promised to make a state
ment in full of the progress, equipment
and aim of this year's work in the Ju
nior and) Senior law courses.
Thedepartment of geology has Just
received from Charles W. Hargitt of
Syracuse University, a set of twelve
lantern slides recently taken by him
around Vesuvius, showing condition of
eruptions, kinds of lava, etc.
Last Saturday the department of
geology escorted a party of twenty-five
city teachers to the exposures around
Lincoln. As the carryall passed
the T street school the children precip
itated a shower of fruits upon the wor
thy school tecchers.
Mr. Lane has made arrangements
with Mayer Bros., whereby the men's
gymnasium uniforms may be secured
through them at the same reduced rates
as previously quoted in the Nebraskan.
Students hereafter will have all meas
urements taken at their store. No more
will be taken at the physical director's
office.
W. A. Greenwald of Falls City vis
ited yesterday with his son Guy, who
Is attending tho University.
J. A. 8argent, a former student, who
enlisted in the Spanish-American war
as a volunteer engineer, Is now doing
construction work on tho Mexlcal Cen
tral railway.
