The wrestling match last Satur
day night between Wm. Fitgate ,
the Cherry county cowboy , and
Karl Blocha of Table Rock , was
ended after the first fall tvhich
Fugate won in 43 minutes. Mr.
Blecha refused to wrestle again
| and conceded the wrestle to Mr.
'Fugate ' , stating that he wasn't
feeling very well and was about
all in. They agreed to wrestle
a ain to decide the championship

a purse of ? 50 , each contributing

Last Saturday D. Stinard com
menced his auction sale of his

store and the bidding went fast
and furious until several odd lines
of goods were closed out. Mr.
Stinard announces his intention to
continue the auctioa until all his

The Presbyterian ladies gave a
big supper Tuesday "evening in
Bethel hall , taking in about § 60.
Miss Edith Reisher was unable
to be at her work in Morey's store
this week on account of sickness.
"Cheer Up ! " The Robins , are
coming again. Many will remem-
per them as the Chase-Lister Co.
Miss Anna Bolt/ came down
from ISTen/el yesterday enening ,
where she had been visiting with
parents and friends.
Fred Jones came down from
Cody yesterday. Fred , as many
will remember , was badly hurt in
a practice game of football on
Bdllevue college campus some
time ago. It is a pleasure to see
him able to be oat again.
R. L. McClure and wife are new
residents of our city , coining here
from Neligh where Mr. McClure
has been working for S. F. Gilman -
man as an assistant in his electric
light plant there. He takes a po
sition here as electrician for Mr.
Gilraan and moved into one of
his houses at the mill.
D. J. Drebert , the special agent
of the German Mutual Fire Ins.
Co. , came in this morning from
the east and will visit the local
agent , I. M. Rice , a couple of
days. If we should fail to call on
anyone contemplating taking out
insurance , just call on us , or call
by phone 10 or 24.

The city dads are trying to en
force new ordinances on the install
ment plan ; that is , some obey
while others continue without re
gard to any restrictions or ordin- c
ances to the contrary. A citizen
complained to us this week that
some people were made to comply
with ordinances while others they
didn't appear to notice. Some
built sidewalks and others didn't
where they were most needed.
Some got rid of their hogs but
others fattened their's in town
.

unmolested. Some bought ash
cans but others have continued to
dump ashes on the streets. Some
alleys are cleaned up but others
are not and used for all kinds of
trash or junk. Get after all alike .

When the wrestling match was
declared off after the first < , , fall last
Saturday night , a controversy
arose as to the winner of stakes on
the wrestle since the bets had
been made on two falls as the win-
ner. Some money was put up r
after the first fall and that was ,
finally declared to be not forfeited

since the wrestler , Blecha , had
given up without wrestling but :
the one fall. They finally agreed
to consult Sanely Griswokl , sport
ing editor of the World-Herald.
Another match is to be pulled off
Saturday night , Dec. lith , to set
tle the championship and the bets.
The wrestlers each put up § 25 and
the winner takes the purse of § 50
and 60 per cent of the gate re
ceipts.
