reason that the facts in the case do not agree with the affidavit County Attorney Walcott has had a new floor put in Mr office and Judge Towtie and Sheriff -Strong occupy the southeast room of the building-called-a-court-house This is a slight im provement over the -old way when the county attorney was down town and the -county court room was so small that Judge Tucker and other portly persons had to go out doors whenever they wanted to turn around According tothe state papers Super intendent Jackson has appointed Mrs A K Goudy to the position of secre tary in his office and a just remon strance will go up from all over the state if such is thefcase While it is true that the foundation of populism is Torth not party all populists are human enough to beoome just like democrats proceedings and delinquent taxlistas the lowest bidder Geo H Reinert At the requestof Geo H Reinert the bid of The Western News was amended so as to read ether than town lots 6 cents for each 1601 about Monday evening Mrs T C Hornby entertained twenty five friends at her home on Cherry street Progressive High Five was played from 830 until 1130 when a dainty little lunch was spread this being followed by several vocal and instrumental selections by Airs Carroll and Dr Wells Mr Car roll favored the company with a couple of well delivered recitations Miss Jessie Pierce won the ladies prize at cards a handsome eggshell china cup and saucer and Robert Good carried away the gentlemans prizer a paper weight representing an overturned dice box and dice The booby prizes a box of candy and a
