Slaughter steers and yearlings sold mostly steady to 50 to 75c higher, fed heifers strong to 25c up. Steers weighing up to 1,277 scored $23.40, heifers in loadlot reached $23.35, a package" $23.40. Other steers, yearlings and heif ers ranged from $21.50 to $23.25, plainer cattle $21.25 down. Average price of steers moved up to $21.98; mean price of heifers to $22.09. Cows sold firm to 25c higher, bulk $12.50-$16.25, a few to $17. Stockers and feeders were mostly steady, Instances strong, feeder steers showing grain to $23.25, lighter replacement steers to $27, and vealer weight steer and heifer calves $38.
