Schulz, 81, died at her home at Kenosha, Wis., April 27. following a five weeks illness. She was born Matilda Hansen of Greenwood, Dec. 17, 1881, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Geortie Hansen. She received tier education in the schools of Oreenwood and Weeping Water. Ot February 15, 1906. she w;us married to Julian Schuelke, who preceded her In death, March 23, '.)2n. They moved to Kenosha in 1920. On June 18, 1927, she was mar ried to Herman F. Schulz. Mrs. Schulz is survived by her hit band, three sons, William Schuelke of North Hollywood, Calif., Leslie Schuelke of Canoga Park, Calif , and Glen Schu elke of Kenosha, Wis., and five daughters, Mrs Vera Langer and Mrs. Theron Hollister of Ken osha, Wis., Mrs. Gordo.i Staats of Waukc(jan, 111., Mrs. Alvin Hawley, Resdo Park, Calif., and Miss Marguerite Schuelke, Ke l osha, Wii. She is also survived by 10 Krandchildren. and 7 great grandchildren and one sister. Mrs. Emma Appuh.i of Green wood, Nebraska. Mr. and Mrs. Valjean Stall and sor.s attended the Elmwood Commencement last Wednesday. Several of the class members were Mrs. Stall's 4th grade students when she taught at Elmwood. Mr. and Mrs. Orris Lannlng and son also attended to see her nephew, Joel Born emeier, graduate. Supt. Marvin Maurer was In itiated with 135 other Shriners at the Temple in Lincoln during the Diamond Jubilee ceremon ial. Potentate Herbert Ronin an nounced the initiation. Maurer is superintendent of Alvo-Eagle Schools. Mrs. Clifford Anderson Jr. and infant son, Steve Glen are at home In Lincoln. The baby was born May 13 at Lincoln Gen eral Hospital and has a brother Obituary Paul G. Slander Paul G. Slander who had been ill for some time underwent an operation for cancer at an Iowa City, Iowa, Hospital. He died May 10 at the age of 67. He was married April 24, 1928, to Marie Eckery In Lincoln. They lived most of the time on a farm near Greenwood. They had two daughters and four sons. Mrs. Stander and the children survive. They are Mrs. Gerald Whittlesey, Selah, Wash.; Mrs. John Bauer, Newton, Iowa; Jerome, Ashland; Richard, Dy sart, Iowa; Walter, Humeston, Iowa, and Ernest, Chariton, Iowa. His mother, Mrs. Mary Stander of Ashland and ten grandchil dren also survive, along with sis ters Lena and Isabell, Ashland; Mrs. Joseph Berry, Agnew; and brothers Fred, Denver; William; Ashland; Carl, Greenwood, and Robert, Ashland. He was preceded in death by his father, a sister Agnes and a brother Leo of Kimball. Mr. Stander spent his boyhood near Ashland and lived at Chari ton, Iowa, as well as at Green wood. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Funeral was at Sacred Heart Church at Chariton, the Rev. Fr. C. J. Paul officiating. Burial was at Ashland with neighbors as pallbearers.
