Sand Phone 2708 Mr. and Mrs. Ned Nutzman were chairmen of the Family Night program at the Methodist church. Those who participated In the program were Bill Schlelchtemeir and Ann Nutz man, piano solos; Julia Mitchell and Diana Dietl, readings. It was the last of a series of meet ings for a covered dish supper. Hostesses were Mmes. Robert and Stuart Schllchtemeier, John Barkhurst, Gilbert Forn off. The attendance was very good. Mrs. I. A. Warlick was taken by Lett Ambulance to Brown hospital in Nebraska City Fri day morning. Mmes. Denae and Ned Nutz man and Ray Ehlers attended a school of Instruction given by Mrs. Mildred Imig of Seward at the hall In Weeping Water for Ihe Order of the Eastern Star Tuesday afternoon and evening. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Lacy joined a group of Avocans for cards at the Ernest Norrls home Thursday evening. Prizes were received by Mrs. Calvin Car sten, Henry Smith, Ellis Lacy and Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Hoback. Five couples enjoyed pinochle. The birthday group met at the home of Mrs. Doris Pollard Monday to observe the after noon with her. Mrs. Charlotte Niday baked the birthday cake The Girl Scouts attended ser vices in a group at the Meth odist church Sunday to observe Girl Scout week. Bonnie Mayfield, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Mayfield, en tertained the girls of her class at supper on her birthday, March 13th. Bonnie was nine years old. Miss Evelyn Wolph received word of the birth of a daughter of her nephew, George Olive and Mrs. Olive of Canonsburg, Pa., March 12. The Olives have two sons and another daughter. Mrs. Amelia Balfour, Mrs. Will Ost and Mrs. Jack Hines at tended the funeral services of Mrs. Mae Scharp at Nebraska City Thursday afternoon. Later they called at the home of Mr. and Mis. Steve Eglsaer and vis ited also with the Eglsaer's daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. 8. Brand and son, Bruce of Minneapolis, Minn. Mrs. Egl saer Is convalescing at her home with a fractured pelvic bone. Boyd Mayfield, Frank Hob scheidt, Malcolm Pollard, Deane and Ned Nutzman hosted a shower Friday evening at the Mayfield home honoring Roger Balfour. Thirty five men were present. Mrs. Doris Pollard met her son, Larry, at the Omaha air port Thursday evening. He had made a business trip to New York City for Western Electric. Mrs. Pullard spent several days at the Larry Pollard home at Papillion. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Hansen en tertained the dinner bridge club Sunday evening. Guests were Dr. and Mrs. R. R. Andersen. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hansen received prizes. A number of members of the Methodist Church attended the open house covered dish dinner at the parsonage in Weeping Water Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Hal Hansen and Steve, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Haasen met Mr. and Mrs. John McClurg at Winterset Inn near Flattsmouth for dinner Sunday with Hal Hansen the guest of honor on his birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Bark hurst visited Miss Esther Bark hurst at St. Elizabeth 'Hospital in Lincoln Friday and found her much Improved. Guests of Mrs. Audrey Dodson and Jackie Saturday were Mr. and Mr. Don Flanders, Karen and Judy of Verdel; Mr. and Mrs. Merritt Dodson Jr. of Schuyler. Chester Stone, Mr. and Mrs. Neil Pierce, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Jameson returned Thursday night from Tucson, Arizona, where they spent a week with Mrs. R. B. Stone and the Jim Stones. Mrs. R. B. Stone was improved. Mr. and Mrs. Henning John son spent Sunday at the Bob Johnson home near Talmage. Members of the Methodist Youth Fellowship attended a show at Nebraska City Sunday evening and returned to the church for refreshments and to honor their sponsors, Mr. and Mrs. Hal Hansen on his birth day. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bruns and Penny Payton of Plattsmouth spent Sunday with the Tom Johnson family and In the after noon they visited Mrs. Sophie Bruns of Otoe. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Ross, Mr. and Mrs. Prank Warden, Mrs. Vina Beatty and Mrs. Visa BroWn ' attended the funeral services of Jake Epler at t h e Methodist Church at Julian Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. John O'Connor and family of Sumner, Nebr. were weekend guests of his father, Claude O'Connor. Miss Vesta O'Connor of Omaha spent Sunday with them.
