Louisville News Mrs. Ralph Wildrlck Lynda J. McKlnlstry, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Peter sen of Manila, Iowa, graduated recently from the Americana Beauty School In Des Moines. Fred Huff of Blair and Fritz Re'ichart of Louisville visited Fritz's brother, Marlon, at the St. Joseph Hospital In Omaha Sunday evening. Herbert M. Hell, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hell, Sr., is takim two weeks ROTC train ing at the Great Lakes Naval Training Station In Chicago, III. Herb left September 1 and will be home on Sept. 15. He will re sume his studies at the Univer sity of Nebraska on September 17, where he is a Junior this year. Alvo WSCS ALVO (Special) The Alvo Woman's Society of Christian Service met at the church Sept. 5 with 20 members present.' A report on the ice cream sup per was given by Mrs. Ray Sch weitzer, chairman of the sup per, and Mrs. Elmer Haas, trea surer of the Society. The lesson "What Shall We Tell Our Children About Suffer ing" was given by Mrs. Lee Cop pie. Mrs. Marlon Kellogg and Mrs. Ray Schweitzer were hostesses. August and September birth days were honored, Mrs. Charles Roelofsz baked the birthday cake. Greenwood WSCS GREENWOOD (Special) -The Women's Society of Christ lan Service held Guest Day Tuesday at the Methodist Church with approximately 85 attending. Guest churches were Ashland, Waverly, Alvo and Cedar Hill. Music was furnished by Mrs Walter Marolf on the violin and Mrs. Vernon Greer at the piano A quartet of Mrs. Robert Lees- ley, Mrs. Arthur Pershing, Mrs. Walter Marolf and Miss Anna Marolf and a duet of Mrs. Noble Fisher and Mrs. Duane Pollard sang. Mrs. Kenneth Copeland of Lincoln was the guest speaker. Refreshments was served In the church basement during the social hour. Homecoming bay At Alvo Church ALVO (Special) Curtis Trenhaile delivered the sermon at the Alvo Methodist Church Sept. 9. Sunday was Homecoming Day. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Coatman and Mrs. Lucy Kellogg of Ashland, Mrs. Ruth Taylor of Platts mouth, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Arm strong and Mrs. Mona Barrett of Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs. Art Hanson of Waverly and Mr. and Mrs. Verl Flack of Eagle were guests. at the morning worship and at the covered dish picnic dinner following the service. Mr. and Mrs. Will Atchison of Elmwood were dinner guests and Mr. Atchison showed his pictures of the Holy Land dur ing the afternoon. Dr. A. B. Lentz officiated. The parents of the couDle are Mr. and Mrs. Earl Albert of Louisville and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Adams of Peru. The bride's eown of silk or ganza featured long tapered sleeves, a scoop neckline which was accented with arjoliaued lace motifs as was the full floor length skirt with a chapel train. She wore an elbow length veil and carried a colonial bouquet of white carnations and pink rose buds. Mrs. Donald Davis of Phoenix. Ariz., was matron of honor for her sister. Another sister, Mrs. John Ahl of Kearney, Sandy Phifer of Mason City and Adelia Smith of Sargent were bride's matron and bride's maids. Ruthann Sprieck and Marv Mansfield both of Louisville were candlelighters. All of the bride's attendants wore mint green lace and satin dresses and carried colonial bouquets of pink carnations. Mr. and Mrs. Norvell Bothwell of El Caljon, Calif, were Wed nesday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Armstrong. Mr. and Mrs. James Ogg brought their baby son, James Elton Jr., home from the Bryan Hospital in Lincoln Friday. He had been ill for several days but Is now much improved. Senior Circle WEEPING WATER (Special) The Senior Circle of the Chris tian Women's Fellowship met on Thursday afternoon in the church parlors with Mrs. Gree dus Hofker as hostess. Mrs. Henry Knaup opened the meetrng with prayer. Mrs. Mar vin Conger and Jordan were gues's. Mrs. Eanos Plunkett pre sented the devotions. Mrs. Ed Freeman gave the missionary lesson on "Ministry to Special Needs Through the United Christian Missionary So ciety." The members sang three songs with Mrs. Knaup at the piano. The Senior Circle will be in charge of the birthday luncheon Sept. 20. Mrs. Victor Plunkett, jr. will decorate the tables and Mrs. Eanos Plunkett will take the birthday cake. The October meeting will be wi'h Mrs. Leo Christensen.
