Mr. and Mrs. John Sheehan were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith in Papilllon. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Beck and children of Kennard were Wed nesday evening supper guests at the Earl Beck home. Ahrens Family Reunion The Ahrens family reunion was held Aug. 12 at the City Park in Louisville. There were 62 in attendance, three of which were guests. The oldest member present was Mrs. Barton of Blair and the youngest was Alan Horn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Horn of Weeping Water. Those, coming the farthest were Mr. and Mrs. William Huigen of Clarinda, Iowa. There were four new addi tions to the Ahrens family this ! past year. Election of officers was held with Mrs. Violet Trowbridge of Tekamah as president; Mr. Herbert Ehlers of Nebraska City as vice president; Carl Meising er of Louisville as secretary treasurer and Mrs. Muriel Bern er, recording secretary. Next reunion will be held the second Sunday in Aug. 1963 at the Blair Park in Blair. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Reed and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lange of Om aha were entertained last Satur day evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Furstenburg in Omaha in honor of Carl Lange's birthday. In the evening, Mr. Furstenburg took them up in his private plane for a ride over the countryside. Mrs. Reed said they flew over Louisville and that it was a beautiful sight. Thursday dinner guests of Mrs. Christina Nessen were Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Jackson, Jean Lyle and Janet and Mrs. Marcoe and daughter all of Omaha. Mr. and Irs. John Wegener of Louisville, Mr. and Mrs .v Robert Startzer and Clara Schwalm of Omaha were Sunday evening callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Si Morris near Ashland. Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Hinkle and children of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Hicks and their house guests, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Baker of Nevada were Monday afternoon callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Beck. Mr. and Mrs. rvin Albert and Kay and Mr. and Mrs. George Dolan returned home Wednes day evening from an 11 day fish ing trip to Ear Falls, Ontario, Canada. They got their limit of fjsh and the ladies enjoyed a trip to the woods hunting wild blueberries. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Isaac and Evelyn returned home Monday evening from a weeks vacation spent with their son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Isaac and daughters in Pueblo, Colo., while there they got a chance to see President Kennedy, who was there for the opening of the dam connected with the signing of the Frying Pan Bill which was recently passed. Carlton Kroese who had been staying with her returned to his home and Kent Kroese returned home with his grandmother for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Meyer and family of Sky Took, Okla homa were weekend guests of A. C. Hinkle and sons, Roy and Roger. Mrs. Bedella Stander was taken last week to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Mar quardt in Avoca, and because of failing health was transferred by ambulance to the Methodist Hospital in Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Larson and their house guests, Mr. and Mrs. William Larson and family of San Antonio, Texas were Thursday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Hansen in Lincoln. In the after noon the group toured the State Penitentiary. Mr. and Mrs. George Dolan and Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Albert and Kay left Sunday to spend a ten-day vacation in Canada. En route at Pipestone, Minn., the Dolan's car was demolished in a collision. No one was seriously Injured, although George sus tained a knee injury. Bob Dolan received word from his parents that they had purchased another car and were on their way again Monday. Mrs. Joseph Hon and her mother, Mrs. Effie Masters of Kansas City, left last Saturday to spend a week with Mrs. Hon's son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Ahl and Rhonda in Greeley, Colo. Mr. Ahl will re ceive his Master of Arts Degree in Business Education on Thurs day, August 16.
