The younger group from the club attending at Seward, Neb., were Joe French, Jackie Ronhovde and Ted Sa bata. The "Happy Heart's" 4-H Club was represented at Camp by 3 members Jeannine and Janelle Muenchau and Patricia Copple. The "East Line Lassies Club" folk who attended were Kathy Oberle, Paula French, Stephanie Ilerrold, Doris Schildt, Janice Heed, Carol Sabota and Jeanette Ronhovde. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Ander son of Atkinson, Neb., were over night guests at the home of her father Mr. Harold Wall Monday evening enroute Tuesday for Bat tle Creek, Mich., to visit her sis ter and family, the Orville Con ners and to Deal, New Jersey, to visit her sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Ott. They will return to Atkinson Aug. 24th. Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Hickok of Lincoln and Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Fleishman and family of Elm wood called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Vader Sat urday evening. On Sunday guests at the latter's home were the Melvin Neeman family of Syracuse and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Gerard and family of Lincoln. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Walker Jr., are parents of a girl, Annette Marene, born on Tues day, July 17th, at Falls Church, Virginia. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Keith Trumble and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Walker Sr. at Eagle. Mrs. Trumble is at Falls Church at the daughters home and enjoying the 2 granddaugh ters. Mr. and Mrs. Walker had recently visited at the son's home on their extensive trip to the East Coast to visit the son and family and her sister and husband and also "Butch" Walker stationed with the Navy at a base in New Hampshire, re turning home after a 2 week's tour. Mr. Harold Wall left for his new position, at Modesto, Cali fornia on Tuesday evening via his car. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Ostrander and daughter are enjoying their new location and home located at Scottsdale, Arizona. They moved from Nebraska, in June. On Saturday evening all motored to Lynch, Neb., for a family reunion on Sunday. Marilyn Habel, of California visited at the home of her moth er, Mrs. Verna Habel, recently. Mrs. Marion Rudolph and daughters, of Denver, Colorado, are visiting her parents, (the Milton Roclaways) and other ' relatives for several weeks this ! summer. Mrs. Fred Wilson and daugh ter Maiiene of Glenda, Wyo., visited recently at the home of her mother, Mrs. Hallie Stewart. Dr. Hubert Stewart of Pawnee City, called at his mother's home, Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Don Mowery and family of Long Beach, California visited at the home of his aunt and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Reynoldson and also at hitters son, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rey noldson, (guest's cousin) and family during their stay. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Reynold son, of Ames, Iowa, visited at the home of his nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Reynoldson for dinner, on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Art Walberg and daughters visited at his broth er's home, Mr. and Mrs. Shorty Walberg and family at Melrose, Iowa, on Sunday. The Dan Fitzgibbons family of Elmwood, Neb., were supper guests at the home of his par ents, the D. J. Fitzgibbons Sr. Sunday evening. Ellis McKay, had the misfor tune, to injure his ankle, during the ball game, Eagle vs. Adams game, Friday night, at Adams, however, game ended in Eagle's victory by one point. Ellis gets about on crutches. To date, his ball playing, held up for a while. Mr. and Mrs. Harold French and family enjoyed a trip to Glenwood Springs, Colo., last week where they visited the Chester Axthelm's "Lazy Dia mond A Ranch", continuing on to Douglas, Wyo., and visited his aunt and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Herricks' and other relatives, and aunt, at Cushing, Neb., (Mrs. Henry Goering for merly of Unadilla) also an aunt at the nearby village at Palm er, Neb., at the Mrs. Charles Lennerman home. Mr., and Mrs. John Weyers are proud grandparents again, a son was born to their daughter Mary, and husband, (Mr. and Mrs. Robert Neeman) at Lin coln, on Thursday, July 19th. Mr. and Mrs. Knaus Jorgen sen of Detroit, Michigan and Mr. and Mrs. Rasmus Lauritzen and Alice were Wednesday din ner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ras mus Lauritzen, Sr. They arrived Monday and visited until Thurs day morning. Mr. Jorgensen is a brother of Mrs. Rasmus Lau ritzen, Sr. Mrs. Agnes Olsen spent Sun day afternoon and evening with Mr. and Mrs. Rasmus Lauritzen and Alice. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Akeson were afternoon guests. Mrs. Roy Wiles, Sr. and Mrs. David Wiles were Tuesday aft ernoon guests of Mrs. Arvin Patton and children. The women and men who are employed at Western Electric in Millard from Weeping Water enjoyed a two week vaca tion, from July 14 until July 29th. Mrs. Amos Bates was a Wed nesday afternoon guest of Mrs. Clifford Cooper. Mr. and Mrs. Holland Cooper and boys of Om aha were Monday and Tuesday supper guests at the Clifford home. Mrs. Rolland Cooper brought the supper Tuesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Van Horn and John enjoyed their dinner out Thursday evening and attended the show "Big Red" in Nebraska City. They visited be fore the show with Hubert Van Horn, who is employed in the City. Mrs. Kenneth Stratton enter tained at a birthday party on Wednesday afternoon for the fourth birthday of her son Monty. There were nine mothers and their children as guests. Out-of-town guests were Mrs. Everett Haith and two children of Nebraska City. Mrs. Kenneth Stratton and children, Mrs. Amos Bates and Candy and Tommy Haith of Ne braska City went to Kearney on Thursday afternoon. They vis ited with Mrs. Robert Rhodes and new baby son, Steven Lee. They went to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Rhodes at Shel don and picked up Robert Rhodes, Jr. He will stay at the Stratton home while his mother is in the hospital with the new baby. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Stratton were Monday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Roy Stratton and boys. Mr. and Mrs. Knaus Jorgen sen of Detroit, Michigan, Mr. and Mrs. Rasmus Lauritzen, Sr. were Wednesday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Rasmus Lau ritzen and Alice. The evening was spent in showing slides and visiting. Mrs. Lauritzen served lunch. The Ladies of the First Luth eran Church met at the Parish Hall for a day of canning. The food well be taken to the Martin Lutheran Home at Beatrice. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jen nings of Davenport, Iowa stayed Thursday night and Friday with Mr. and Mrs. Victor Plunkett and Wendell. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cook and family of Omaha were Friday dinner guests of Mrs. Adam Cook. They had returned home Phon. 252-W Thursday evening from a vaca tion trip to Colorado, Wyoming and South Dakota. They enjoyed fishing at North Platte and stayed at the Ralph Cook home. Friday afternoon guests of Mrs. Cook were Mrs. Cynthia Daw son, Mrs. Daisy Richards and family of Plattsmouth. Mrs. Maude Miller and Mrs. Gordon Boline of Admire, Kan sas spent from Thursday until Saturday with Mrs. J. E. Ren ner. Thursday evening guests to visit with the two ladies were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ren ner and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Renner and boys of Louisville. Mr. and Mrs. James Root of Charleston, South Carolina are the parents of a baby boy. The baby was born on Monday, July 18, 1962. He weighed 6 pounds 7 ounces and has been named James Leroy. The maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Leroy of Manley and the paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Russell Root of Weep ing Water. i Mrs. Minnie Wright visited on Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. Ster ling Wiles. f.i Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Jacob sen, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Jacob sen and Mark of Lincoln and Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Guehl storff and Steven were Sunday guests the past Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Jacobsen. The Danish Brotherhood met the past Tuesday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rasmus Lauritzen, Jr. There were eleven members present. Re freshments were served by Mr. and Mrs. Hans Jensen of Avoaa. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Free man were Monday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Freeman of Avoca. Mrs. Edward Van Horn and Carol left early Monday morn ing by train for a visit with rela tives and friends in the east. They will visit with Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Whitford at Dear born, Michigan, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Weber and family of Hol land, New York, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Tigner, Mr. and Mrs. Art Nickels and Robert of Buffalo, New York. Carol will spend some time with Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Nickels in Buffalo. En route home they will visit with Mr. and Mrs. Gus Schillaci and family in Painsville, Ohio. Mrs. Bert Philpot visited on Saturday morning with Mrs. Ella Cook and Mrs. De Forest Philpot. Don Resso and three friends went to Perham, Minnesota for a fishing trip. Mrs. Resso and Mike visited her parents while he was away. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Pilfold and girls were Friday evening callers of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Van Horn and John. They later called on Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Wade. Jody Pilfold reports that her grandparents have : twelve puppies. Linda Muhr of Krebs, Okla homa spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Upton and family. They all attended a fam ily dinner on Sunday in Adams. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Cow perthwait and Danny have moved their trailer home to their property in Weeping Water. They formerly lived at Union. Paula Freeman visited for a week with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Holscher at Cook. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Freeman and Steven went after her on Sunday. The special song that was sung at the Christian Church worship Sunday was "Will You Walk Today With Jesus?". Mrs. Leon Bond, Mrs. Lynn Rothe, Ray Acting Supervisor of Safety, and Relief Opera tors A. J. Jorgensen and C. B. Jarvis. 'Allied1 Cited for Safety Record The employees of Allied Chem ical's Omaha plant won the Ni trogen Division Safety Award of Merit by working 2,000,000 man hours without a disabling injury as of July 22. They will also re ceive an award from The Na tional Safety Council. The Omaha plant has been in operation since 1954, and has established an enviable safety record. It won the Allied safety contest in 1955, 1957, 1958, and again in 1961. Ehlers and Buster Baxter sang the verses, with the choir joining in on the chorus. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Eads of Harbor City, California arrived for a visit with Leroy Zessln and Mr. and Mrs. James Zessin and Brent of Sidney, Iowa and with friends in Weeping Water. Mr. and Mrs. T. V. Hubbell attended the church services at the Christian Church on Sunday. Mrs. Hubbell is supply pastor at the Christian Church in Louis ville. Mr. and Mrs. Merle Cook and family of Fremont were Sunday dinner guests of Mrs. Adam Cook. They attended a farewell party on Sunday evening. Randall Ratliff and Steven uwin or umana were Saturday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Domingo and Kenneth. Steven also visited with his parents Mr. and Mrs. William Gwin and family. ' Erma Kirchhoff and Alice Pekarek of St. Paul, Minnesota left on Tuesday morning after a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Hy Kirchhoff. They were going to visit with relatives of Miss Pek erek's and go to the Rochester clinic for sightseeing. Mrs. Gayle Meeske brought her two children to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dom ingo on Wednesday morning and they visited until Sunday with their grandparents, while their parents were away on a short vacation trip. Mr. and Mrs. Hy Kirchhoff at tended a family dinner of the First Lutheran Church Brother hood on Monday evening. Tammy and Laury Van Horn spent Monday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Edward Van Horn and John. Mrs. Van Horn and the children visited with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Nickels in the evening. Arnold Upton also called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Nickels. They all enjoyed going through the Nickels new basement home. It should be completed in a month or six weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Plunkett and Wendell and Alice Plunkett of Davenport, Iowa, returned home Thursday evening from a nice vacation. They toured the Black Hills in South Dakota and Mount Rushmore, visited with friends in Loveland, Colorado. They visited with Mr. and Mrs. Hobart Cooper and family at Lit tleton, Colorado and stayed three days at Canyon City. They also visited with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Campbell while there. En route home from Denver they were very surprised to find Mrs. Plunkett's brother and sister-in-law along the way, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jennings of Dav enport, Iowa. They enjoyed their supper together the last evening. Mr, and Mrs. Cyrus Livingston took care of the chores at the Plunkett farm while they were away. Kenneth Domingo of Lincoln spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Domingo.
