The Kent Balfour and Vance Balfour families took Mrs Amelia Balfour and Mrs. Helen Petersen out to dinner at Ne braska City for Mother's Day Saturday evening the Balfour families with Mrs. Petersen Henrv Ross, the Fred Gunns Mr. Fred Wellman, and R. Well man family of Syracuse and Kathy Thorne were guests at a birthday supper at the Marias Petersen home at Syracuse. The birthday of Marius Petersen was observed. Members of the Methodict Youth Fellowship gave all moth ers, who attended the morning service, a corsage. There was special music for Mother's Day Mr. and Mrs. Angus Campbell of California visited Mrs. Amelia Balfour Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Royal and John spent Sunday with, the Henry Wilkens family of Syra cuse and attended the bacca laureate service in the evening. Wayne Wilkens is a member cf the class. The Frank Royal fam ily of Nebraska City also joined the family group. Club Gives To Diabetic Fund The Oakleaf Extension Club met at the home of Mrs. Ralph Pay ton Wednesday afternoon May 16. Eleven members and one guest, Mrs. Virginia Johnson were present. A silent auction was held. The profits to go to the Diabetic Camp Fund. Meeting opened with the re peating in unison, the flag salute and club creed. Mrs. Ralph Pay ton gave a health report entitled "Water at Mealtime." The lesson was on the Propa gation of house plants. A plant exchange was held by the mem bers. Next meeting will be June 2C at the home of Mrs. Wayne Dasher. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Doran and family, Mrs. Caroline Doran and mother of Lincoln and Mrs. Charles Doran and family of Walter spent Mother's Day in Hebron, with Rev. and Mrs. Wir.. Doran and family. Mr and Mrs. Bill Mack of Lin coln are the proud parents of a son, Jellrey, born at Bryan Memorial hospital on Sunday May 13. Mrs. Mack is th? for mer Rene Rockenbach and they are both graduates of Eagle High School. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Scatter good were business' visitors to Omaha on Tuesday. Martin Robertson of Davey, spent Sunday in Eagle visiting with his brother Harry Robert son. Another old mark in town is disappearing. The old City Jail located just back of the Fire House had not been used for years and is being razed. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Scatter good spent Mother's Day with their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Sorensen at Rus kin, Neb., on their return trip home they stopped in Hebron, Neb., and called on their other daughter, Rev. and Mrs. Wm Doran and family. Mr and Mrs. Jay White of Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Reed of Omaha, spent Saturday and Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. John Rudolph. Mrs. White and Mrs. Reed are sisters of Mrs. Rudolph. John Fischer suffered a stroke on Sunday May 6. He was rushed to the Bryan Memorial Hospital. Oxygen was administ ered, to which he responded sat isfactorily. At this time he is slowly improving. He enjoyed a short visit from both his sons Oryle of Loup City and Noel of Cape Girardeau, Mo. Caroline Reitter of Lincoln called on friends .'n Eagle on Tuesday and also attended Club meeting which was held with Mrs. Clyde Althouse. Mr. and Mrs'. Herman Folken attended the funeral of William Lutjmeyer at North Branch Church near Otoe, Nebraska, Monday afternoon. Mr. Lutj meyer was an uncle to Mrs'. Falken. Airman James Dokter To Be Reassigned LOWRY AFB, Colo., Airman Second Class James A. Dokter of Weeping Water, Neb., is being reassigned to George AFB. Calif., following his graduation from the United States Air Force technical training course for air armament mechanics here. Airman Dokter learned oper ation of the F-106 aircraft weap on control systems. The airman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth E. Dokter of! Weeping Water, is a graduate of , Weeping Water High School. Larry Boardman was named librarian. The girls judged oatmeal cookies and the boys judged pages from forestry scraDbooks Mrs. Kendall, the assistant leader, led a discussion on yard beautification.
