The Lu-Ta-Ha-Ma Camp Fire girls enjoyed a "hike" last Sat urday afternoon and at this time it was a farewell occasion for one of their members, Miss Jeanette Howell who is moving from Union. Peggy Surface and Linda Sue Gannaway are two new members of the group. Mrs. Sarah Rich and daughters Irene and Fae drove to Under wood, Iowa last Sunday where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Donald McQuinn and daughter Patty. In the evening they attended eve ning church services at the Om aha Tabernacle. They heard a musical program given by the Grace Choral Singers of Grace Bible Institute of Omaha. There will be Union church services on Good Friday eve ning, April 20 at the Methodist Church. Russell Jones, pastor of the Baptist Church will give the sermon. Rev. Severn, pastor of the Methodist Church, is con ducting a service that evening in Weeping Water in one of the churches. A reception was held at the Baptist Church last Friday eve ning for the new pastor, Rev. Russell Jones. About forty at tended. He will become a mem ber at the next meeting. Mr. Jeasen announced that there will be a ki'e flying con test agaii this year and it will be held as usual at the Harold Blaikie farm. The, committee on the contest are Raymond Free man, Walter Saxton and Dwight Rector. This contest whl be held one Sundaj in April The following awards were presented: John Cappen, bear badge, 1 gold and 3 silver ar rows; Marland Dennis, bear badge, 1 gold and 1 silver ar row; Lee Bruns, gold arrow un der wolf badge; Lanny Mather, 2 silver arrows under wolf badge: Two new members were taken into the Cub Scout Pack, Rich ard Cooper, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Cooper and Ricky Bloch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bloch. They were presented with a neckerchief from the sponsoring organization, The American Leg ion Post 237. Two boys received their Wrebelos badge, Billy Sax ton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Saxton and Gayle Rector, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Rector. Gayle was welcomed into the Stagg Patrol by John Van Hern, Wy man Mather and Terry Doyle. The boys were presented with Boy Scout knives from the Pack.
