Mr. and Mrs. Eugene West, entertained Mr. and Mrs. John Dowding of Palmyra, Nebr., and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Rudoiph, of Eagle, at their home, last Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Frymire, of Palmyra, Nebr., and Mr, Jim Meyers, also of Palmyra, were encountered in a head-on colli sion a few miles south of Eagle, Sunday evening. The latter is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Earle Meyer, formerly of Eagle. Mrs. Frymire, is the former Marian WheaUey, daughter of Mrs. Viola Wheatley, of Palmyra, Nebr., and a sister of Mrs. Eugene West of Eagle. Mr. and Mrs. Frymire were released from the hospital on Monday afternoon, having re ceived quite painful injuries of his arm, head and body and Mrs. Frymire, cuts and bruises of face and head. Mr. Meyers received chest Injuries and broken ribs. He is a nephew of Mmes. Wilbur Stall and Wm. Morris of Eagle. Mr. Billy Smith of Detroit, Michigan, arrived via plane in Lincoln, late Sunday evening, and via rental car, spent that evening and a couple of days at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harley Smith this week. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Scatter good entertained with a co-operative dinner at their home last Friday evening, honoring the birthdays of Mmes. Herbert Stall (now of Nehawka, Nebr.) and Fred Rudolph, now of Malcolm, Nebr. Both the above ladies' birthdays occur on the same day, Jan. 26th, and resided near the Scattergoods durinq their resi dence near Eagle. Those who were present besides Mr. and Mrs. Stall and Mr. and Mrs. Ru dolph and the hosts, were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Umland, Mr. ind Mrs. Ralph Ransford and Mr. and Mrs. John Fischer. The evening was enjoyed playing cards following the co-operative dinner. High score for women was wen by Mrs. Rudolph for men. Henry Umland, low score, Joanne Stall, and Herbert Stall. Mrs. Fern Carlson, Irene Glenn and Freda Webber of Lin coln, called at the home of Mrs. Nina Frohlich Sunday afternoon, all are former fellow employees of Sears Roebuck Store at Lin coln. Mrs. Nina Frohlich of Eagle and her brother, Mr. Wm. Trunk enbolz and latter's sister-in-law, Mrs. Geraldine McCartney, of Lincoln were dinner guests at the home of a nephew and fam ily, the Donald Trunkenbolzs' at Council Bluffs, Iowa, Sunday. Other guests were another neph ew and niece and families, Cloyd Trunkenbolz and his sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Capel, of Council Bluffs. Mmes. Fred Muenchau and Lester Donlan are continuing to improve at the St. Elizabeth Hos pital. Mr. and Mrs. William Malone attended the wedding ceremony of his nephew Billy Powers at a Methodist Church in Lincoln, on a recent Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Oberle and family of Lincoln, called at the homes of both her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Gerhard and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Oberle and Judy. Cindy Oberle spent a few days with her pater nal grandparents, during the Lin coln school vacation, and re turned home with the parents Sunday evening.
