' 24 Per Cent Field Goal Percentage Hurts Plattsmouth High basketball Coach Lowell Johnson gave fans a look at a new starling line up here Friday night but the Blue Devils lost their ninth game in 11 starts, 71-48. Falls City administered the beating in a ragged game mark ed by much whistle-tooting for various reasons, most justified. The new Devil starters show ed a lot of hustle but made :;onie costly mechanical errors. At the start, only Dan Sehultz of the previous starting corns was in the lineup. With him were Eill and Dave Netlelmann, Butch McGi'aw and Roger Lanum. They played most of the first half and had trouble finding field ioal range. Falls City led 19-10 and 34-17 at the first two stops, then poured it on with a 20-9 third-quarter margin. Plattsmouth just didn't shoot goals well enough to stay in con tention. Output was two each the first two quarters, three the third. A 22-point fourth period sav ed face a little. For the game, Plattsmouth hit, 15 out of 66 field goals tries for 24 per cent most of those shots being from medium or long range. Falls City canned 42 per cent. 25 out of 60. Ben Maze who led with 19 points got 7 out of 19. Lanum with 3 for 8 and Scott with 5 for 12, paced Plattsmouth with 11 points apiece. Other field goal marks were: Sehultz, 1 for 2; Bill Nettelmann, 1 for 3; Beverage, 2 for 10; Campbell, 2 for 11, Dave Nettelmann, 1 for 4; Corky Adkins, 1 for 1; Mc Graw, 0 for 8; Tom Smith, 0 or 4; Fred Groce, 0 for 2 and Me Clanahan, 0 for 1. The Blue Devils lost the ball 18 times on infractions, compar ed to only nine for Falls City. Plattsmouth led in rebounds, 30 to 21. Beverage with 9 and Sehultz with 7 were high. Next for the Devils is a toughie at Ralston Friday night. Plattsmouth (48) Beverage, f Lanum, c-f ... Adkins, f Campbell, f Groce, f 0 Sehultz, f-c 1 MeClanahan, c .. 0 D.
