It's Winter Now Anyone who has any doubt about winter being here (who would after 8 inches of snow and 12 below zero?) can take the word of Harold Edwards of Plattsmouth that It's true. The cold wave following the two big snows finally drove the last of the migratory flock of geese south frm here. Upwards to 15,000 Blues and Snows had called the Waterfowl Manage ment Area (which Edwards manages) on the river bottom temporary home for several weeks. Their number dwindled to about 4,000 last week and then the first of thl3 "week all but a few of those . left for points south. They were content to stay, evidently, as long as their pad dling kept open the water on the artificial lake on the game refuge. Isn't 12 below enough to slow down anyone's paddling?
