Landon visited Mrs. Landon at the hospital Sunday. Lola Allen h 111 and entered the Bryan Memorial hospital Sunday morning. Mrs. Ken Carp enter took Miss Allen to the hospital. Mrs. Louise Anderson has not been feeling so well and Is now staying with Mr. and Mrs. Evertt Cope. Fred Wessel returned home Monday from St. Mary's Hos pltal in Nebraska City where he was a surgical patient for five weeks. Carper vis ited the Fred Wessels oi their way home from Beatrice where they were guests of relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Stapert and Mrs. Ethel Ferris of Colo rado Springs spent the weekend with the Jake Stapert family. ; The last meeting of the mis sionary lessons was held at the home of Mrs. Will Ost Tuesday morning. The first four lessons were given by Mrs. George Shel don on the topic The Meaning of Suffering and the last four were conducted by Mrs. Emma Nutzman. The title was The Church and Public. Affairs. Barbara Chandler's overnight guest on her 17th birthday was Linda Waller. Mrs. Gilbert Kime and Mrs. Jack Hall of Omaha were guests of the Bide-a-Way Club at the home of Mrs. Alvin McReynolds. Alan Wayne, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Fornoff, was bap tized Sunday morning at the Methodist Church with the Rev Staley Hackley officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Fornoff, Joyce and Glen and Mrs. John Knabe be came members of the church. Retired Ministers Day was ob served in the Methodist Chur ches Sunday. Mrs. Ona Kunkel was recognized. Teacher of the school is Mrs. Thelma Barr. Assisting Mrs. Barr. in presenting the program was Mr. Bud Lewis. Following the program a plate unch supper was served by the mothers. Gamma Chapter At Sandin Home Alpha Delta Kappa, Honorary teachers' sorority, held its reg ular meeting at the home of Katherine Sandin with president Margaret Kroese as co-hostess. Many favorable comments were, heard concerning the re convention dinner recently held in Omaha at which time the Plattsmouth Chapter members acted as hostesses. Miss Kroese entertained the group with her interesting col lection of colored slides, which she took this past summer dur ing her tour of European countr ies. The Plattsmouth, or Gamma Chapter, are happy to annonce that Mrs. Gertrude Mehrens, a local teacher, is a new member. Seasonable refreshments, in keeping with Thanksgiving, were served. Umland and family of Omaha visited at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Umland at Eagle, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Schroder at Palmyra last weekend. Mrs. Umland re mained at her parents, for a few days and her husband returned to Omaha Monday for his em ployment. Recent callers at the Alfred Schroder home were his cousin and family, Mr. and Mrs. Don Halvorsen and sons, of Poplar Grove, Illinois. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Sndkes were dinner guests at the Schroder home, Wednes day evening. Dale has received his orders' for his entering the armed services, soon. On last Thursday a family dinner was enjoyed at the broth er's home with the above folks present.
