Rev. and Mrs. Joe Barr are parents of a daughter, Karen Sue, weighing 7 lb. 10 oz. born July 8th at St. Mary's Hospital in Nebraska City. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. C. Bennett Duff of Pittsburgh, Penn., and Mr. and Mrs. Everett Barr of Liberty, Nebr. Weekend guests at the Frank Fltzpatrick home were Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Evans of Clarinda, la. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Gansemer and girls visited Pamela Fulton of Plattsmouth Sunday to help her celebrate her birthday. Mr. ana Mrs. Ed Morris, Deb bie and Steve of Ashland visited at the Ron Hostetter home Sun day. Mrs. Everett Marshall called her parents Mr. and Mrs. Dan Hoschar, from Argentia, New foundland, to let them know the family had arrived safely at their new home. Sunday visitors at the Edward Roddy home were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Martin and family of Nebraska City. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Scudder of Nebraska City were Sunday guests of the Bob Spangler fam ily. A steak fry was held Sunday evening at the Frank Fltzpatrick home for Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hiley and sons of Glenwood, la. The Leon Gansemer family were Surnday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Grover King of Nebraska City. Monday, Kim Beil spent the day visiting Tom Spangler to help Tom celebrate his 7th birth day. In the evening, Mrs. Forest Beil, Lorraine, Roddy, Kellie and Dell joined them for supper and ice cream and cake. Connie Fitzpatrick was a guest of Betty Jo Worthan of Omaha the past week. Janet Gansemer and Carol Collins attended a slumber party at the home of Ginger Vest, Saturday evening. Prior to the depar ture for the Swimming Pool the group conducted their regular worship services at the church with Mirk Embree in charge of the devotionals. Relatives of Mrs. Lester Scat tergood have received word of an injury to her foot, (two bones were broken) when she fell on their back porch in such a man ner as to result in the painful in jury. She is wearing a cast from her foot to the knee for several weeks and it is hoped she will soon be relieved of her discom fort. Carol Fischer of Alvo, spent a few days last week, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Fischer and Kathy E. The Eagle Midget baseball team, (Junior High Boys) coached by Don Schmidt and "Pee Wee" team (Intermedi ates) coached by Robert Adklns played a. double header Monday evening at Eagle. The Midgets lost to Greenwood and the Pee Wees won from Alvo. Thursday evening Midgets play at Elm wood. The Pee Wees finished the home games for this season. The girls baseball team played at Muny Park on Friday eve ning, July 21st against the Lin coln Air Force Base Jr. High Girl's team. The north end of the new building was badly damaged "by fire June 23 when the Hotel and Theater build ings were destroyed. Young and Jose, contractors who constructed the building, are doing the Nehawka News Mn. F. O. Sand Mr. and Mrs. Jake Stapert and Sandra accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Martin Ross to Omaha Sunday. Sandra is a delegate to the 12th annual United Nations Pilgrimge for the Youth. She registered at the YMCA and the Omaha IOOF and Rebekah lod ges entertained the 72 Nebraska delegates at a picnic supper at Hanscom Park. The delegates were house guests of the Omaha lodge members at their homes. Sandra stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hardon. All left early Monday morning for Washing ton, D. C. where they toured places of interest Thursday and Friday. Saturday they go to New York City and will spend six days at places of interest includ ing the United Nations. They leave New York July 29 and will return by way of Niagara Falls and Chicgo, arriving home Aug. 2. The delegates are sponsored by the IOOF lodges. 1 Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Newton of Plattsmouth visited Sunday at the Glen Rutledge home. Marilyn Pollard, student nurse at Clarkson Hospital, Omaha, was home for the day Sunday. Carol Stone and Sharon Erick son of Omaha spent the week end with Carol's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Stone. Mrs. Ona Kunkel's supper guests Tuesday were Messrs. Mmes. Albert Anderson, Harvey Barkhurst and George Sheldon. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Roddy of Union called at the Carl Wessel j home Sunday. Jim Turner has gone to Adak, Alaska where he is stationed with the navy, Enroute he visit ed his brother and sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Bobbitt, Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Cornelius and fam ily, Mr. and Mrs. Clair Rowlett and family, all of Portland, Ore gon and also talked to his uncle, James Paul Bobbitt at Anchor age, Alaska. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Klemme : of Murdock, Mr. and M r s. George Dickman visited Ronnie ; Dickman at the Lutheran Hos- j pital in Omaha Sunday. Ronnie had a severe injury to his foot below the ankle. He was driving an electric tractor at the Arm-; our plant when another tractor crowded him near a door. A belt hit his foot causing the injury.
