She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Gochenour; a sister of Mrs. Jes sie Sheldon and the late Elmer Gochenour of this city. Besides her sister Jessie, she leaves to mourn her passing, her husband Lloyd of Lincoln; a daughter, Katherine Wilder of Vancouver, Wash., and two sis ters, Mrs. Henry Royer of Au burn, Nebr., and Mrs. Mike Hula of Sedalia, Mo. Wins Ad Award Western Power & Gas Com pany (formerly Central Electric & Gas Company) with head quarters in Lincoln, Nebraska, has won outstanding honors in the field of advertising in the 38th annual Better Copy Con test sponsored by the Public Utilities Advertising Association. All entries were in competition on an International basis. The announcement was made Thurs day, May 4, at the association's annual convention in Detroit. Public Service magazine, Western's pubiicaton lor em ployees, won first place award in the international competition. Eagle Methodist Church Notes EAGLE (Special) May 14 membership services will be conducted during the morning worship services at 11 o'clock a.m. by Rev. Bowno. The Intermediate Class young folks have attended the mem bership class study for several weeks each Sunday morning during the Church School hour. The Church Stewards have vis ited their listed members during the week for the church year pledge and contribution records. The Quarterly Conference for the Eagle Methodist Church will be later this month. The Methodist Youth Inter mediate Fellowship are having a Hayrack ride and Party May 20th at 6:30 p.m. The Women's Society of Chris tian Service served the Golden Years Luncheon for the Honor folks at the church on last Mon day. Thirty-six guests attended. Louisville High Has Science Fair LOUISVILLE (Special) Wed nesday, May 3, the science de partment of Louisville High school welcomed the public to a variety of scientific displays at the first annual Science Fair. There were displays and dem onstrations given by the Physics and Chemistry students. Among the more popular of these dis plays were: the high frequency electricity demonstration by Jim Brown; the extremely cold tem perature display by Diane Stan der and Kay Albert, and a vac uum demonstration and "fire water" exhibit by Dorothy Christianson end CaVolyn Stohl mann. , . , ., A very fine crowd of about 200 people visited these displays and gained a wider appreciation of the scholastic training the current students are receiving. 4-H Q T's The 4-H Q T's Club held its regular monthly meeting at the home of Mary Smith, May 4 at 7:30 p.m. The lesson discussion was on project progress. Gloria Dash er, with the assistance of Mrs. Frank Nickels, demonstrated how to lay and cut out a pat tern. Velda Nickels gave a speech, "Life Enrichment Through 4-H Clubs." This is the speech she is entering in the 4-H Public Speaking Contest. Next meeting will be at the home of Carol Dasher early in June. reporter, Vlda Nickls. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rey nolds of Louisville are parents of a daughter born April 30 at St. Mary's Hospital, Nebraska City. She has been named Telara Lynn and weighed six pounds, six ounces. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Reynolds of Louisville and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Youngbludt of Spokane, Washington. Mrs.- Reynolds was the former Patricia Youngbludt of Spokane, Wash. The Reynolds have two other children, both boys who are staying with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bry an Reynolds. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Goch enour and daughter of Platts mouth were Wednesday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Brown. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Mooney of Goodland, Kansas were Satur day evening supper guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Her bert Stander. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Schmader were Tuesday afternoon guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Bauers. Juan Nita Wilson of Lincoln visited a few days last week with her aunt, Mrs. Olive Woolhiser. Other callers during the week at the Woolhiser home were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wilson and Mrs. Phil Wilson, Denny and Bar bara all of Lincoln and Mr. and Mrs. Chauncey Woolhiser and Linda of Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Harold (Lucy) Heil returned last week from the Nebraska Motor Sports Show in Omaha where they had their three old cars on display. They won first place prizes on all three. They have a 1915 Model T Ford Speedster, 1926 Model T Touring car and a 2-cylinder Maxwell which has won 8 first place trophies. Mrs. Frank Pace, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jewell and Mrs. Joe Sheehan all of Weeping Wat er were Saturday callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Isaac In Manley. The Huffs were former Louisville residents. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wildrick were in Omaha Saturday for Mrs. Wildrick's health check-up. The Village Board of Trustees and their wives entertained at a dinner in Omaha Saturday eve ning honoring Miss Vivian Blake, who has resigned as vill age treasurer after, having serv ed faithfully and diligently for eighteen years. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kuhn were Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Kuhn and Linda in South Bend. Mrs. Hattie Worthman is im proving from her recent illness and says her friends have been bringing her all kinds of wild flowers such as Dutchman's britches, violets, apple blossoms and others. Mr. and Mrs. James Chriswis ser, Ronald and Irene of Ne hawka were Wednesday evening visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Meisinger. Judy Jo Harbison received a superior award in the piano divi sion at the district music con test at Millard last week instead of the excellent as was stated. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Puis, Frank and Ralph and Miss Sharon Framstead of Lincoln visited Charles Martin of Murray the past week at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln. Mr. Martin underwent surgery on his spine on Monday morning. He is pro gressing nicely and is expected to leave the hospital over the weekend. Mrs. Frank Pace of Weeping Water entertained at a family dinner on Sunday at her home, honoring her grandson, Billy Anderson, who was confirmed. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Anderson, Kathy and Billy of Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jewell, Bobby and Donnie and Troy Jewell all of Weeping Water and Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Isaac and sons of Weeping Water. Marilyn Ossenkop returned to her work at the Omaha National Bank in Omaha. Monday. She had spent the past two weeks re cuperating at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Os senkop, following an appendec tomy. Gillogly, and husbpnd of the former Wllma Swatek of Platts mouth, has been promoted to ABC Television vice-president in charge of sales for the network's Chicago office. Mr. Gillogly Joined ABC in 1951. Before that he handled local radio and television sales for WOW and WOW-TV, Omaha. the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Koch and family in Omaha. Mrs. Eldon Pingree and chil dren and Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Buskirk were Tuesday evening callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Emory Buskirk and daugh ters near Gretna. Stanley Welle returned to school Wednesday after being out of school for six weeks with an infectious allergy. Mrs. Virgil Haddon of Boise, Idaho is visiting this week with her niece and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Landgren. Mrs. Richard Heim, Mrs. Carl Meisinger and Mrs. Ervin Albert attended the Extension Club Tea at Weeping Water Tuesday after noon. Miss Donna Scott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Scott and Miss Sue Willis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Willis received certificates of award for their drawings at the Nebraska ele mentary art exhibit. Donna's entry was a charcoal drawing and Sue's was a chalk drawing entitled "Winter Landscape." Mrs. Allen Koop is the eighth grade teacher and also serves as art instructor. She states that six pictures were entered by her students and Donna's and Sue's were chosen to be exhibited in Lincoln for the month of April. Sue's will become a part of a traveling exhibit. Mrs. Richard Berner and Mrs. Carl Meisinger were Wednesday afternoon callers at the Walter Engelkemeler home near Mur ray. Mrs. Bud Chriswisser of Ne hawka was also a caller. Gerald Ault of Cedar Creek went to Grand Island Friday to be judge there over the weekend at the field trials for trained i dogs. I Richard Meisinger spent the weekend at the home of his sis ter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kroese and family in Norfolk. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Voight man and Mrs. Pat Gunnels at tended the wrestling matches in Omaha Saturday ' evening! ' Mr. and Mrs. Carl Meisinger were Saturday evening callers at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Engelkemeier. Mrs. Virgil Haddon of Boise, Idaho was a caller Monday at the home of Mrs. Hanna Twiss. Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Benedict were Mr. and Mrs. Har old Blunt and family, Mr. and Mrs. Newton Benedict, Chester Moore and Church Benedict all of LaMar, Iowa and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Benedict and family of Winterest, Iowa. Mrs. Bert McNealy returned home April 29 after spending the winter with her daughter and family, Mrs. J. L. Connolly and family in Upland, Calif., and with her two sons, V. L. Mc Nealy and D. E. McNealy and family in Fairbanks, Alaska. He is an attorney and a member of the state senate. Mrs. McNealy made the trip both ways by jet plane. She stopped for a brief visit with the J. C. Barnett and Axel Johnson families in Den ver enroute home. The Barnetts and the Johnsons were former Louisville residents. Morris was taken violently ill last week and was taken to St. Mary's Hospital by ambulance and underwent surg ery. Latest reports tell us he is recovering nicely which is good news to his family and many Union friends.
