Continuing the study of the Christian home. Mrs. Geo. Coat man conducted the devotions and Study period on "Peace." In the absence of the presi dent, Mrs. Elmer Shreve con ducted the business meeting. Plans for the pre-Easter chick en pie supper were discussed. This supper will be April 1. The hostess, assisted by Mrs. Geo. Goatman, served lunch to 16 ladies. Shower Honors Recent Bride Mrs. Robert Eugene Quinn, the former Linda McGraw, was guest of honor at a bridal shower March 19 at the George McGraw home. Hostesses were Bonnie Wolf and Mrs. Clara Rhoden. Fourteen cuests were present and showered the bride with many miscellaneous gifts. Refreshments were served fol lowing the social hour. Mrs. Ouinn is the daughter of Mt. and Mrs. George L. Mc Graw of Plattsmouth. Maxine Cloidt, a recent pa tient at St. Joseph Hospital in Omaha, was released on Sunday. For Judy Kay Haswell Wed at Louisville To James Voigtman LOUISVILLE (Special) Judy Kay Haswell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harlee Haswell of Ash land and James Walter Voigt man, of Louisville were united In marriage Saturday, March 18 at the First Methodist church in Louisville.. Rev. William Mc- Cord officiated. The bride wore a white prin cess style street length dress with beige accessories. The bride groom wore a light gray business suit. The bride carried a white Bible and wore a red rose as a corsage. The bride and bride groom's mothers wore blue and white carnations. Bridesmaid was Miss Mary Haswell, sister of the bride. She wore a yellow nylon street len gth dress. Bestman was LeRoy Voigtman, brother of the groom. The bride and bridegroom's families along with a few friends attended the wedding. A wedding lunch in honor of the bridal couple was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Voigtman. The young couple will reside at the home of Mr. and Mrs Bernard Voigtman in Louisville Legion Auxiliary Meets at Union UNION (Special) The Am erican Legion Auxiliary met at the Legion Hall last Tuesday afternoon. Plana were completed for the annual - Bazaar .and Luncheon to be held on Tues day, April 18. A report on the decorating of the hall is as follows: $300, for repair and painting of ceiling; $100, painting of walls, balance to be paid at later date; $5, donation to Red Cross. The War Dads Auxiliary will assist the American Legion Aux iliary with the "Easter Egg Hunt" for children of the Union area. Pre-school children and chil dren up to 2nd grade, to be held on April 1, at 2 o'clock at Un ion grade school yard. Members wishing to send eggs are asked to leave eggs at Whipple Farm , Supply . ... Mrs. Ted Brannon will gather up the eggs on Wednesday March 29. The organization has agreed to serve a- dinner for the Cass County Salon of 840 during May, date to be decided iater. Mrs. Carl Everett gave report on Community -Service. Mrs. Elsie Frans was hostess for the afternoon meeting. All members are to meet April 14th to clean the hall. Mrs. C. E. Markham was re leased from Methodist Hospital this morning. EASTER SUNDAY -Hastier $100 1 1 a Mrs. Robert Judith Paige, Robert Larsen Wed at Louisville LOUISVILLE (Special) Miss Judith Rose Paige of Omaha and Robert Jay Larsen of Louisville were married March 11 at a 7:30 p.m., ceremony at the First Methodist Church in Louisville. Rev. William McCord officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Helen L. Paige of Mt. Ver non, 111., and the groom Is the son of Mr. and Mrs.' Robert L. Larsen of Louisville. - The bride wore a floor length gown of Chantilly lace. The molded bodice featured a scal loped sabrina neckline with tiny sequins trim and matching long pointed sleeves. The bouffant skirt worn over stiffened petti coats featured flounces of mat ching6 lace and tulle. A coronet of pearls held a fingertip veil of imported illusion. She carried a white Bible, a gift of the bride groom, and orchids. Candlelighters were miss Don na Murman of Glenvil and Har ry Larsen of Louisville. Miss Jane Haeberlein of Springfield was maid of honor and Miss Joyce Smith also of Springfield was the briedsmaid. Richard Larsen of Grand Island, brother of the groom, acted as best man and Thomas Board man was groomsman. Debbie Smothers of Omaha was flower girl and Gary Hop kins of Mount Vernon, Illinois was the ring bearer. Ushers were Richard Koterzina and Frank Koterzina. Jr., of Louisville. Mrs. George Dolan, organist, accompanied Mrs. Graham Jones who sang. Following the ceremony a re ception was held In the church basement. Assisting at the gift table were the Misses Wanda McCarty and Pat Adamson both of Omaha. Mrs. K. W. Hopkins, cut and served cake, Mrs. Betty Smothers poured punch and cof fee was served by Mrs. Kathryn Maynor, all sisters of the bride. Miss Janet Price of Spring field served the ice cream. Following the reception, the couple left on a wedding trip to Colorado. Nebraska Belles Met at Tesareks Nebraska Belles Extension Club held their monthly meeting March 15 at the home of Mrs. Art Tesarek. Mrs. Kenneth Ad kins, president, conducted the meeting. Eight members answered roll call by naming a favorite va cation spot. Sherry Johnson was a guest. Due to the absence of the pro gram leader, games were played and prizes were given the win ners. The door prize was won by Mrs. Richard Johnson. Refreshments were served by the hostess. The April meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Francis Kelli-son. .. .1 4 J. Larsen Servicemen Are Cuests At Dinner Mr. and Mrs. Hans Bock and Debra were hosts at a dinnet Thursday honoring Robert Piper, Jr. and Seaman Ronald Taylor. Robert Piper left for the Air Force boot camp training at San Antonio, Texas Friday. He is a brother of Mrs. Bock and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Piper, Sr. of Plattsmouth. Ronald Taylor was home on leave from Boot Camp visiting relatives here and reports to San. Diego, Calif, Country Extension Club Has Meeting LOUISVILLE (Special) The Country Extension club met March 17 at the home of Doris Albert with all members pres ent and one guest, Mrs. Theresa Meyerott. The president, Doris Albert, conducted the meeting. Roll call was favorite sewing hints. Amanda Heil led the group in singing. Grayce Ahl gave the de votions. Discussing what we would contribute to this year it was decided we would do some thing for a local organization. The topic for the day, "Line and Design In Dress" was given by Lila Engelkemeier, who illus trated her talk with slides of various styles of dress. Each member modeled various styles of necklines with the other members judging which style they liked best on the individ ual. Lunch was served by Lila Eng elkemeier carrying out a birth day theme since two of t h e members, Myrtle Johnson and Amanda Hell, were celebrating birthday anniversaries. At the next meeting, April 21 with Grayce Ahl, there will be a plant and bulb exchange, also Amanda Heil and Jo Heim are to bring articles lor the white elephant sale. I VFW Membership Dinner Wednesday Ladles Auxiliary to the Vet eran's of Foreign Wars, are plan nlng a membership dinner for their members; guests to be their husbands, or friends. The dinner Is scheduled for Wednesday, March 29 at 8:30 p.m. All members are to bring a covered dish. Mrs. Norma Wilson, Mrs. Lil lian Dasher, and Mrs. Sophia Wolever are the committee In charge. Christ Lutheran Ladies Aid Meets The Ladies Aid Society of Christ Lutheran Church held its meeting March 22 at the church parlors: 24 members ans wered roll call. r President Mrs. Verner Fried rich had charge of the business meeting. A plant, bulb and food sale was held in connection with this meeting. The Ladies gathered at the home of Mrs. Ed Gansemer the evening of Feb. 15 to help cele brate her birthday. Birthday cakes, sandwiches and coffee was served. Thank you notes were read from Mrs. Gansemer and Mrs. Franklin Wehrbein for cards received while in the hos pital and from Bill Weiss in the service, for cards and Christ mas gift from the Ladies Aid. Ladies of the Aid and Congre gation papered three rooms in the Parsonage March 14 and 15. Yard and Church cleaning is set for April 19. Mrs. Joe Puis gave devotions. Mrs. Wayne and Leland Mel singer were hostesses. Mrs. Arthur Hild and Mrs. Her bert Franke will be the hostess es for the April 26 meeting. Clendale Club at Lena Vervaecke's LOUISVILLE (Special) Lena Vervaecke entertained the Glen dale Club at the Legion Hall on March 16 with Mabel Ingram as co-hostess. The meeting opened by the group singing "There's Music In The Air." Roll call, "A Handy House hold Tip,'-' was responded to by 18 members. Lena Vervaecke won the club gift. Pauline Stander won high at Bunco and Eda Knutson, low. Mollie Wegener held the lucky trey. Next meeting will be with Shirley Ingram at the Legion Hall. I McCraw-Quinn Wedding March 12 Miss Linda Charlene McGraw and Mr. Robert Eugene Quinn were married Sunday, March 12, at the First Lutheran Church of Plattsmouth. Reverend Char les Nenow, pastor of the church, officiated at the wedding cere mony which was attended by the immediate families. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George L. McGraw of Plattsmouth and Mr. Quinn's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Quinn, of Omaha. For her wedding Miss McGraw chose a white wool sheath dress with ornamented gold belt, white accessories, and her cor sage was yellow rose buds. Attendants to the bridal coup le were Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Ea ton of Plattsmouth. Following the wedding, a re ception was held at the home of the bride's parents. Mrs. Quinn was a Plattsmouth High student, of the senior class, and will continue her studies at North High School, Omaha. The couple is making their home at 4624 North 39th St., Omaha.
