Members came with well fill ed baskets which everyone en joyed. Carols were sung after which Santa Claus made an appear ance with gifts and treats for all. A social evening followed with members and their families and quests having a most enjoyable time. Golden Circle Club Meets at Murrays' LOUISVILLE (Special) The Golden. Circle Club met at the home of Pattl Murray with An na Johnson as co-hostess. There were 16 members and one guest, Ann Hell, present. The club sent two gift baskets this year. The members sent $0 to "The Tree of Lights" in Om aha. - Two Christmas stories were read and games were played. The hostesses served lunch. Donna Moss Wed To Eugene Mead At Eagle Church Miss Donna Moss, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold, Moss, was married Thursday evening, Dec. 22 at. the Eagle Methodist Church to Eugene Mead of Bat tle Creek, Mich, with Rev. Ro bert Bowne, performing the double-ring ceremony, before the Immediate family as guests. Miss Clara Mae Dunlap served as bridesmaid and Noel Kemper Best man both of Eagle. The bride was attired in a tailored tweed suit with white accessories. She is an Eagle Schools grad uate and the groom a graduate of Battle Creek High School, now attending the University of Mich igan. The couple will live in an apartment near the university. They led the Christmas carols and Mrs. Hansen read The Angel That Refused to Sing. ', Mrs. Emma Nutzman presid ed. Mrs. Will Ost conducted a blind auction. The Methodist Youth Fellow ship will serve a chili supper Tuesday, Dec. 27. There was a gift exchange. Guests were Mrs. Edwin Schomaker of Lincoln, Mrs. Thurmdnd Nixon, Reverend and Mrs. Severn of Weeping Wa ter. The meeting was held at the home of Mrs. George Sheldon with M,rs. Sybil Nixon and Mrs. Conrad Johnson co-hostesses Wednesday afternoon. Louisville WSCS Has Xmas Party LOUISVILLE (Special) The WSCS held their Christmas par ty Thursday afternoon in the Methodist church parlors. Thirty-one were present In cluding several from the Even ing Circle and Wesleyan Guild. Hostesses were Hazel Hon, Dorothy Nessen and Alletha Uhley. A worship center table had been arranged with a wine color ed cover centered with a mlnla ture organ and a choral group and candles. Overhead was a star. Devotions were led by Mrs. Grace McGrew using a Christ mas theme. A Missionary Min ute was given by Mary Ame lang. Several women filled boxes with cookies donated by mem bers to be distributed to the shut-ins. A Choral was presented as a Christmas program with Grace McGrew as narrator, giving a background of the songs. Alle tha Uhley was piano accompan 1st. Mrs. Donna Jones sang the solos. Mrs. Sue Pankonln directed a sextet consisting of six young women of the church choir, who sang Christmas carols. Distribution of the gifts closed the program. The gifts were placed, around a lighted Christ mas tree. .. . The hostesses' served refresh ments, appointments and food in keeping with yuletlde. Next meeting will be Jan. 5. Hostesses will be Olive Wool hlser, Helen Doermann and one Circle member. Bluebirrd News : Smiling Bluebirds had a Christmas Party at our leader's heme. We played games and sang carols, received gifts and favors. Hostesses were Pamela Guehlstorff and Kathy Loffer. We made gifts for our parents and Santa Claus decorations for our party. Eighteen members and one guest sang the "Extension Club Song" and several Christmas carols. Mrs. Pauline stander was a guest. Members answered roll call by giving a gift wrap idea. The members worked on year books and voted to appoint a club historian for the purpose of collecting Items and articles pertaining to the club. Oames were played and a gift exchange was held. Secret Pals were re vealed and new names were drawn for the coming year. The club jlft was won by Pauline Stander. Mrs. Anna Harms, Mrs. El mer Pearson and Mrs. Don Fleming dropped from the club. The hostesses served a lunch with a Christmas theme at the close of the evening. Next meeting will be Jan. 19 with Mrs. Larry West. Hallle Mills, reporter. Naomi Circle At Woster Home Naomi Circle met with Mrs. Clem Woster; her home decorat ed for the Christmas Season. Mrs. Howard Wiles gave the devotions, also gave a Christ mas Story. Mrs. William Heinrich gave a prayer. After the short business meet ing, the afternoon was spent in singing carols, exchanging cook ies and a social time. The Cir cle also remembered shut-In members with gifts of Christ mas Cookies. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Jackson. Assisting was Mrs. Woster, Mrs. Evers and Mrs. Brooks. Eagle Methodist Church Notes EAGLE (Special) . The Eagle Methodist Church School program was well attended Tuesday evening. The Junior Dept., Intermediates and High School classes participated. Mmes. Valjean Stall, Wesley Lowell and Roland Halvorsen, were in charge, assisted by the teachers, Sylvia Muenchau, Nor ma Nuschke, Glenda Wall, Olive Westlake, Ula Westlake, Donna Bowne and Luella Fischer. A church gift is planned with the collection. Plans are being made for the Eagle. Methodist Congregation to attend the Cass County Fel lowship Sunday evening Jan. 1 at the EUB Church at Elmwood. Happy Hearts 4-H Club Has Party EAGLE (Special) The Hap py Hearts 4-H Club members met at the home of Helen West lake for their meeting and Christmas party. The club members exchanged their wishes for Christmas gifts and the mothers were present. There was an exchange of gifts. Members sang Christmas carols and played games. Mrs. Clarence Westlake and Helen served lunch. Next meeting will be at Car la's Wolfs Jan 12. Bette Wal berg, reporter. Happy Helpers 4-H Club Has Reorganization LOUISVILLE (Special) The Happy Helpers 4-H Club held its organization meeting recent ly at the home of Shirley Hen nings with eight members join ing for the coming year.. Election of officers was held with Theresa Engelkemeier as president; Sherry Group, vice president; Judy Dietl, secretary treasurer; Susan Gerdes, report er. Mrs. Forrest Engelkemeier is the leader and Mrs. Richard Livingston as assistant leader. The members are taking two projects, "Learning to be a Homemaker" and "Beginning Baking." The first regular meet- was held at the home of Susan Gerdes Nov. 23. New material was passed out for the coming year. Two demon strations were given, setting a table by Elaine Terryberry and Sherry Group and Baking Muf fins, by Theresa Engelkemeier and Sherry Group. A covered dish luncheon is to be held at the home of Elaine Terryberry Dec. 29 with all the girls assisting Mrs. Terryberry In serving their mothers. The girls will also have a gift ex change. She plans to return home soon and it is hoped she con tinues to improve. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Brown of Adams, Nebr. were dinner guests at the home of friends, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Ketelhut on last Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Scatter good visited their daughter, Mrs. Wm. Doran at the hospital on Sunday evening and she is con siderably improved. Mrs. Herbert Oberle is looking forward to a visit with her mo ther, Mrs. Fred Seiko of Har vard, Nebr. during the Christ mas Holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fleish man called at the home of for mer neighbors and friends, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Fentiman, near Elmwood. Mr. Fentiman's bro ther, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Fen timan of Rockport, Mo. former Elmwood residents were visiting at the brother's home. The Eagle folks also called at the home of his nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Fleishman and son during the afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Eldee McKay attended the annual Christmas party and festive occasion at the lovely home of the (District Manager of State Farm Insur ance Co.) Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Thalmann, at Nebraska City on last Saturday afternoon and eve ning. Edward Gerhard received word from his daughter Cedelia and family, the Dr. Russell Col bert's of Louisville, Kentucky, "that the family are planning to come via plane for Christmas arriving this Friday afternoon, if the weather permits." Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Westlake entertained at their home Sun day at a family Christmas din ner, her sister, Miss Ima Hubner of Nebraska City, Mrs. Matilda Markland of Weeping Water, Mr. and Mrs. Granville Heebner and son of Nebraska City, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Stoll and family of Nehawka, Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Shellenberger of Plattsmouth, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Westlake and family and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Westlake and family of Eagle. Mr. .and Mrs. Dale Halvorsen arranged a birthday supper last Sunday honoring the birthdays of their daughter, Susan and Mr. Halvorsrn's mother's birthday. Other family members present were his parents, Mr. and Mrs. - ' i f Federated Women's Club of Louisville Has Meeting LOUISVILLE (Special) The Louisville Federated Woman's Club met at the home of Elva Inman with the president, Don na Neumann, opening .the meet ing. Carols were read by Suzanne Pankonin. She also read all of the poem, "Peace on Earth." y t Christmas baskets were dis- kcussed and decided upon. iJ"'"'vl Some additional information on Civil Defense was handed out. Annette Fitzpatrick, Margue rite Streeter, Elva Inman and Mildred Fusselman are in charge of preparations for the mothers' "March of Dimes." The program turned over to Sue Pankonin and Mona Heil. They played the recording of the "Little Angel" and the group sang carols and had a gift ex change. , Lunch was served by the hos tesses, Elva Inman and Jo Heim, and a tray of Christmas cookies of all kinds was served by Jo Heim. Next meeting will be at Mil dred Fusselman's with Sue Pan konin as co-hostess. In charge of the program will be Jo Heim, Bonnie Renner and Elva Inman. Eagle Auxiliary Initiates Nine December meeting of the Eagles Auillary were held with Elvera LaHoda, Madam Presi dent presiding. The following were initiated Into the Auxiliary: Anne Dren nan. Betty J. Gonzales Ruby R. Gochenour, LaVetta Konfrst, Shirley J. Larsen, Yvonne Fair field, Ella B. Struble, Betty Bock and Faye Messinger. As Muscular Dystrophy is an Auxiliary project, Michael Old field, who is a M.D. victum, has been adopted by our Auxiliary and will be remembered during the year. A number of suggestions were given for future entertainment. Irene Smith presented an Aux iliary Mother pin to Anna Pearl Beins who was Mother the year Irene was President. Attendance prize was won by Beverly Sell and the dues by Joan Phillips. A Christmas party with games, exchange of gifts and lunch was enjoyed after the meeting. Lorenz Halvorsen of Elmwood. The Eagle Kensington ladies met at Mrs. Bert Muenchau's home Wednesday afternoon with the usual exchange of gifts in cluded in a Christmas Party. Mmes. Wendell Cook of Alvo and LaVell Swarts of Lincoln were out-of-town guests. Dale Roelofz of Alvo, who has been mechanic at a garage, has rnslisterl for severnl months training in the Air Fore and will leave in the near future. Muncie will be holiday guests of Mrs. Carrie Muncie who lives near St. Joe, Mo. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Payton were pleasantly surprised Wed nesday when their grandson. Ronnie Banks, arrived for Christ mas and two weeks visit. The grandson attends college in Al buquerque, N. M.. and Is the son of Mrs. Hazel Maher, form erly Hazel Payton of this city, who lives at Tuscon, Ariz. Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Furse will ; entertain their son, Mr. and Mrs. i R. L. Furse of Denison, la., for; Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. W. II.. Polley of this city, parents of Mrs. R. R. Furse will join the families. Clendale Club Has Christmas Party f;- " LOUISVILLE (Special);--The Glcndr.lc club met at the Legion Hall with Jean Group as hostess and Ruth Albert as co-hostess. This was the Christmas party. The business meeting was pre sided over by Lorraine Keckler, vice president. Roll call was re sponded to by 18 members. Nellie Melslnger won the club gift. The business meeting was closed by singing Christmas carols and repeating the Lord's Prayer. Misses Elaine Stohlmann and Sherry Group were guests. The evening was turned over to the hostesses and two games were played. "The Cranberry Toss" was won by Mattie Hennings and the Stocking Game was won by Elaine Stohlmann. 2 Piano solos were played by Elaine Stohl mann and Sherry Oroup. The members were seated at a table decorated in Christmas motif, where lunch was served. Lena Vervaeke and Josephine Wheeler held lucky trays. At another table was a deco rated Christmas tree with gifts under it. After lunch there was a gift exchange. Next meeting will be with Mamie Group Jan. 12 with Freda Read as co-hostess. It will be an afternoon meeting at the Legion Hall. Louisville IOOF, Rebekahs Have Party LOUISVILLE (Special) The IOOF and Rebekah Lodges held a turkey supper at the IOOF Hall Monday evening. After sup per a program was held with the singing of Christmas carols, a piano solo by Alan Heier, trumpet solo by Judy Harbison, readings by Phyllis Hamilton, Karen Baker, Roxanna Carpen ter and Lanona Baker and a trombone solo by James Brown. A game was played. Treats were given to the children. Dutch Academy Club Has Family Party LOUISVILLE (Special) The Dutch Acaremy Extension Club met at the Legion Hall. A six o'clock supper was served to members and their families. The evening was spent play ing games and singing Christ mas songs. Secret Pals were revealed and new names were drawn. On Monday evening the Sen ior MYF of the Methodist Church will enjoy a fireside gathering at the Davis home.
