Fairbuiry ne ot Toughest Grid Foes Here Friday Plattsmouth High, still look ing for Its first win during a tough season, faces one of Its touRhest games of the year here Friday when Falrbury High comes in at 7:30. Tlattsmouth has dropped seven straight. Falrbury Is 5-2 and co-champion alonp; with Lin coln Northeast cf its "other" conference, owning victories over Lincoln Southeast and Beatrice. In the Twin Rivers Conference, Fairbury is 2-1, having defeated Crete and Beatrice by identical scores of 33-0, and lost to Nebr aska City, 12-0. Plattsmouth Is 0-4 In the Twin Rivers. So, Coach Bill Hawkins and squad have their chore maoped for Friday night it's a hardline Hackler. were slowed by injuries the last several games. Against other teams Fairbury also played. They returned home Thursday after being a way for "a week, Mrs. Schwarz said it was a real good conven tion. During their absence Su-j san was a guest in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Sack and her brothers Ronnie and Tommy were with the Ray Ehlers fam ily. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Lan caster and Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Noell entertained 23 friends at a covered dish supper and card party at the Noell home Tuesday night in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Worthan and daughters of Seattle, Wash. Guests included friends who belonged to a card party here prior to the Worth- ans departure to Seattle live; years ago. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Gregg, Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Smith and daugh ter Carol, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Gansemer and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Les Hutchinson, Mr. and Mrs. John Stones, Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster, and Mr. ana Mrs. Noell and son Gene. Mrs. John J. Stones entertain ed on Friday at a coffee honor ing Mrs. Bill Worthan of Seat tle, Wash. Paul Rice, Gene Noell and Kenny Hostetter entertained sch. ool friends from Plattsmouth at a pre-Halloween Hayride on Fri day night. Refreshments were served by the three hosts at the Noell home. Participants in the UNICEF Drive were well pleased with the results. Collectors also en joyed the party following the fund raising expedition. Mr. and Mrs. Havely Sayers were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Paul Weible of Nebraska City, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Beh rends of Union and June Wagner of Plattsmouth on a drive to Omaha where the group was met by Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Vignalli and all had dinner at a steak house. Later the group spent the remainder of the evening at the Vignalli home. Mr. and Mrs. Vignalli and daughter Ann are planning to relocate in Seattle, Wash. soon. Mrs. Vignalli is the former Betty Morris of Murray. Mary Younker was in Omaha Monday afternoon and called on her nephew Mark Younker of Plattsmouth. Mark recently sub mitted to surgery and was in the Clarkson Hospital, when his aunt called on him. Linda Livingston has returned to her teaching position at Shick ley after attending the Teachers Convention the past week, and being a guest in the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Towner Livingston. Relatives and friends of Mur ray have called on Dwyer Todd of Bassett, Nebr. Mr. Todd has been at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha for surgery. It is re ported he is making good recov ery. Addie Park spent a week in Alvo with her sister Mrs. Timb lin. Jennie Klimm returned home the past week from an Omaha hospital. Speaker at the Presbyterian Church Sunday was Merle Jones of Beatrice. World Community Day Obser vance will be at the Presbyter ian Church here Friday. Every one is invited to attend. Child ren's clothing and other neces sities for the rural overseas church institutions will be pack aged. The meeting is at 2 p.m. New pews were used at the Presbyterian Church Sunday. The Boedecker family donated the new pews, and those present at services Sunday say the pews added greatly to the beauty and comfort of the church. Add Murray News Carol Collins was hostess to a hayride group. Guests were Jack Timm, Jim Gruber, Denny Rich ter, Robert Campbell, Richard Spry, Donnie Younker, Janet Gansemer, Carol Faris, Ginger Vest, Norma Martin and Jean ine Maxwell.
